A Mystery Novelette by Award-Winning Author Andrew Biss
Rachel has failed to return home at her usual time. Her husband, Jack, is left to the vagaries of his imagination. When she does finally appear - as much animated as apologetic - Jack's limited forbearance and inherent cynicism are put to the test as Rachel begins to elaborate on her time spent in the company of a mysterious, enigmatic stranger.
Was this person really in possession of profound intuitive powers and spiritual insight, as Rachel claims, or were there other forces at play?
One thing was for certain: what he revealed to her that day was about to change everything.
Approximately 8,000 words (30pp.). Contains mature language.
"Well written and quite quirky and twisty." --Amazon Review
"It is a taut, tense story, with believable dialogue. I very much enjoyed this book." --Amazon UK Review

The One-Eyed Guru by Andrew Bliss was a very quick read. Rachel arrives home to her husband Jack. Jack was very worried looking for Rachel and wants to know where she was. Rachel explains that she was approached on the street by an old man who she felt she knew from her past. She willing goes to his flat where he begins to tell her things about her past and future. This man has one glass eye and is a spiritual advisor or seer. Rachel returns home with this information and confronts Jack with what she knows. By the cover, I thought this was going to be more on the horror side, but it lacked in that area. Just an okay short story for me.
This was a decent free download. It is well written and quite quirky and twisty. There were no formatting problems and this works well as a short story.
