This Book Is Bound with "Deckle Edge" Paper
You may have noticed that some of our books are identified as "deckle edge" in the title. Deckle edge books are bound with pages that are made to resemble handmade paper by applying a frayed texture to the edges. Deckle edge is an ornamental feature designed to set certain titles apart from books with machine-cut pages. See a larger image.

Book Description

November 6, 2007
After literally stumbling into orbs appearing as bright as light bulbs in photographs he was taking at a spiritual retreat, Dr. Klaus Heinemann immediately sensed that he was onto something profound. There was no choice but to convince himself that his notion was on solid grounds. Heinemann looked at thousands of pictures he had taken earlier, and thousands more would be taken to test the hypothesis that these light circles are nothing less than emanations from Spirit beings.

Dr. Míceál Ledwith had a similar experience after the orb phenomenon was first made known to him through the teachings of Ramtha. He began an intense and systematic study of orbs in all sort of situations, day and night, and in all sorts of atmospheric conditions, in order to discover all he could about their nature, the situations in which their presence could be most easily detected, and what implications they might have for our understanding of our own place in the cosmos. To date, he has amassed a collection of well over 100,000 images.

In The Orb Project, Ledwith and Heinemann present their fascinating discoveries, along with practical tips that amateur digital photographers can use to photograph orbs and properly distinguish them from "false" orbs that are really dust or water particles. They offer guidelines on deciphering the orbs' various patterns, features, and characteristics, based on their extensive research.

As Dr. Ledwith points out, once you develop a keen and sustained interest in photographing spirit entities, some quite interesting things begin to happen: the brain stops censoring these images, and you can begin to see with orbs with the naked eye -- in more color and detail than is visible to even a digital camera.

Ledwith and Heinemann also explore communication with orbs and what their existence means to our lives. The implications of a realization that we are "surrounded by a cloud of witnesses" are enormous and incredibly hopeful for the world at large.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"A well-researched examination of a remarkable modern phenomena, with enormous implications for our current scientific story and indeed our current sense of the possible." -- Lynne McTaggart, author of the bestellers, The Field and The Intention Experiment

"Orbs may be to the atmosphere what crop circles are to the earth. Having seen orbs and had them photographed while I am speaking, it is great to know that we are receiving cosmic energetic communication." -- C. Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph. D., Holos University Graduate Seminary president, International Society for the Study of Subtle Energy and Energy Medicine, author of Life Beyond 100 - Secrets of the Fountain of Youth

"The Orb Project helps us peer into a very weird phenomenon with some sobriety and discernment. Even Einstein referred to the puzzling world of quantum entanglement as 'spooky action at a distance' before it was better understood. Breakthroughs in science come when we are prepared to explore persistent anomalies. Orbs may just be evidence that can only be explained outside of the box of current limiting and reductionist worldviews." -- James O'Dea, president, Institute of Noetic Sciences.

About the Author

Klaus Heinemann was born and educated in Germany. He holds a Ph.D. in experimental physics from the University of Tübingen and has worked for many years in materials science research at NASA, UCLA, and as a research professor at Stanford University.  He has authored and co-authored over 80 peer-reviewed scientific publications.  He is founder and CEO/CFO of a corporation that performs scientific research in computational fluid dynamics, materials development, and nanotechnology under contracts from NASA.

Dr. Heinemann has also worked extensively in the area of solar energy and water purification with environmentally friendly means and wrote a university-level textbook and holds several patents in this field.

For several decades Dr. Heinemann has worked on mending the commonly perceived rift between science and spirituality.  His books Consciousness or Entropy? and Expanding Perception – consciousness, wisdom, compassion, love, are snapshots of this passion, which was stimulated and expanded by his contact with great minds from around the world ever since his immigration to the United States in 1969.

On his journey of re-discovering spirituality, Klaus has explored energy healing and how it can be rationalized and embraced by a person with a natural science-oriented frame of mind. Studies with his personal teachers, the late Dr. Harry and Emilia Rathbun, founders of the world-wide “Beyond War” movement, and the renowned spiritual healer Dr. Ron Roth, gave him a deep understanding that the conventional physical realm is merely an extension of the limitless spiritual realm, rather than all there is.  Klaus Heinemann is a Reiki and Karuna Reiki Master and an ordained spirit-directed healer.

Dr. Heinemann has lectured numerous times about his findings and conclusions from this exciting physical manifestation from the spiritual realm.

Miceal Ledwith, Ph.D., was Professor of Systematic Theology for sixteen years at Maynooth College in Ireland and subsequently served for ten years as president of the university.

He was a member of the International Theological Commission, a small group of theologians of international standing, charged with advising the Holy See on theological matters. He also served as Chairman of the Committee of Heads of the Irish Universities and as a member of the governing Bureau of the Conference of European University Presidents (CRE).

He has lectured extensively throughout Europe, South Africa, Japan, Australia, Mexico, and North America. His forthcoming books are The Message Whose Time Has Come Again and The Ascent to God: The Soul’s Journey Within.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a delightful book November 3, 2007
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
written by a physicist and theologian, it follows their own extensive experiments in orb phenomena. Since they used two very different experimental approaches, this led to some similarities (and some differences) in their interpretation of their outcomes. And in some respects, they left more questions raised than answered, which is, I guess, one of the outcomes of fairly rigorous exploration of a field that exists beyond our physical senses.

Be warned, this is not a woo-woo New Age book. It does contain excellent information on how to photograph orbs, as well as how to recognize "fake" orbs (and when the photographer might have accidentally chosen a setting that would cause him/her to take fake shots). It also contains some very interesting theories about what these things are, and why they're here. in fact, Miceal Ledwith's groundbreaking discovery that orbs are captured on the camera not by reflected light but by what is know in physics as "fluorescence" opens the way for scientific tools towards an entirely new understanding both of what orbs are and the realms they inhabit.

I have only 2 complaints... wish the type on the footnotes were a slightly larger font, and I do wish Miceal Ledwith had delineated some of the yes/no questions (and answers he got) when he worked with the hexagonal orbs. <G>

I can definitely recommend this if you're interested in the phenomena.

5.0 out of 5 stars Experiencing Outside The Box December 17, 2007
Format:Paperback
The Orb Project is an outstanding look at a phenomenon that seems to be too far out of the reality box for Newtonian scientific understanding and therefore is criticized as such. For many people it is just too hard to believe that some sort of life form that is possibly conscious could exist outside the framework of scientific materialism. The Amazon.com review by A. Scientist, not willing to give his name, is an example of a limited perspective by a person who obviously didn't even bother to read the book. If he or she had read it they would find all of their arguments clearly refuted. Granted, if you shake a rug for dust or spritz the air with water when you digitally photograph you will get a photo of a cloud of dust or water, but the orbs of various colors and shapes will not be in the photo.

The forward was written by William A. Tiller, Ph.D., who is `a scientist' and professor emeritus from Stanford University. The book's authors are also highly credentialed, with Klaus Heinemann, Ph.D., holding his degree in experimental physics and who worked for many years at NASA, UCLA, and as a research professor at Stanford University. Miceal Ledwith, D.D., LL.D., was the president of Maynooth College in Ireland for ten years. These people know the difference between dust, moisture and lens flares from orbs.

When Drs. Tiller, Heinemann, and Ledwith presented their findings in 2007 at The Orbs Conference in Sedona, Arizona, they were greeted by over 300 delegates from around the world who had been photographing the orbs with infrared, video, 35mm, as well as digital cameras. Many of the pictures showed orbs at special gatherings such a christenings, weddings, various celebrations, and around animals and children. The delegates by and large understood the orbs to be benevolent and conscious.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent informative reading January 14, 2009
Format:Paperback
I became aware of this book and the authors after searching for more information on orbs on Google.
I have taken "orb" pictures for about 2 years now and this book offers a wealth of information for anyone's enlightenment on the subject. Thank you gentleman.
If someone "believes" that this phenomena is just "dust" or other such explanations,
then no book is going to change their mind no matter how well written (as the Orb Project)
WE live in a Universe with endless possibilities...
