Product Description

Editorial Review

This is just smart. Despite it's overwhelmingly complicated name, the STOKKE KinderZeat, is a valuable transitional seating solution for kids who are too big (or think themselves too big) for a highchair but not yet ready for full-size kitchen chairs. Triangularly shaped, the chair features an adjustable seat and an adjustable foot rest so it can be tailored specifically to the needs of growing kids. The foot rest also functions as a sort of ladder rung so younger kids can climb up into the seat. What's remarkable about the KinderZeat, again besides the name, is how incredibly strong it is. The fact that it can withstand 300 pounds doesn't just mean Dad can jump up and down on it, it means that the chair can easily take all the punishment that high-impact kids routinely dish out. --Charlie Williams

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST- an ergonomically disigned baby highchair-BUY, July 13, 2004

MOST EXCELLENT FOR BABY OR CHILD:
A remote Denmark co-worker OF MINE told me that much of Europe uses this chair. I've purchased 2 Stokke's for my grandboys - both grands love these chairs. I love these chairs. First, I love the sleek Euro style of the chair. Next, I love that this chair allows seating&foot support adjustments so baby/child can sit close to a dinner table and use dinnerware(baby or regular) on the table like the rest of the child's family (this is a good thing). Child is close to family while sitting at table, while observing how dinner happens with family. The adjustable seat & foot rests are made to work with the height of your child, providing ergonomic support for little body parts. The chairs are stackable and can be moved to a corner or can remain at the dinner table. There are optional seat covers (or make your own for your dinning décor), an optional attachable eating tray for those who can't get USED TO NOT having a highchair tray- but i would not purchase this if i were u. My older grandson uses his chair at the computer for proper sitting. and the adjustable seat&foot rests allows proper seating at any desk or work table for child activities. This was absolutely an excellent purchase for my grands which can be used up to ELEVEN years old - or by recommended top height- which ever comes first. This Euro design is superior to US baby highchairs and you continue to use this chair for many years to come. It will be the only baby/child chair you will purchase, the good quality wood will allow this chair to be passed down to many little family members in the future. A MOST EXCELLENT PURCHASE. Get away from the old US baby highchair concept. It will be WELL WORTH IT!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Find a way to purchase one!, July 24, 2005
This review is from: The Original STOKKE KinderZeat - cherry (Baby Product)
I recently purchased this "booster seat" for my now 19 month old.

I have a "funny" story into how I wound up with a KinderZeat in my kitchen. I origionally purchased a cooshie booster soley on reccomenation, and it wound up ruining the finish on one of my brand new wooden kitchen chairs! I was devistated, I had to buy another chair, and a booster. My friend told me she saw this chair at BRU and thought I should check it out. I wound up purchasing it, and its probablly the most used item in our house.

My son can get onto it himself, using the footrest as a step, like a ladder. He sits right up at the table, and doesnt use the harness. The seat adjusts for different ages/sizes, and even I love sitting on it. We made him a SpiderMan cushion for it, and he loves it even more. Its super easy to clean, and you can take it apart for easy storage.

So, I wouldnt really have spent all that money for a booster seat, but now that I DO own one, I fully anticipate purchasing one after my now 6 week old uses and outgrows the Eddie Bauer chair we own. Ohh yea, this is NOT a highchair, and I think 12-18 months is a good estimate of when a child should begin to use one. Even with padding and a seatbelt, theres no sides, no tray, no full back. If money is an issue (we do not have the money to purchase another one really) then I have some solutions
(1) Buy a highchair and then sell it on Ebay when your done, use the money to buy the KinderZeat (we will probably do this, but you still will need to add in money for it)
(2) Borrow a friends highchair and then buy the KinderZeat
(3) Purchase a cheap booster (like the healthy care) and then buy a KinderZeat
(4) Register for the KinderZeat, and buy a cheap highchair!
(5) Refrain giving your child solids until 18 months old (thats a joke)

All in all some how we are going to purchase a second kinderzeat in a year or so, and put a kitchen chair into storage. Boy, if I was rich my whole house (and the houses of everyone I know!) would be furnished with these chairs, they match my decor, and are easy to clean. Kids love them, and they are timeless. A perfect booster for decades.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, love it, love it!, January 21, 2004

We purchased one for our son when he was two and just ordered one for our 18 month old daughter. We have another kid on the way and plan to order another when he/she is around that age. No messing with booster seats, phone books, or sitting on his knees. Reduces spills and wiggling because he is at the proper height. VERY easy to clean - sponge, cloth, or dust buster and voila, all clean! We even took our kinderzeat to my parents when we visited.
