I agree with the other reviewers that these seem to be the original studio recordings as advertised. If you like the Zombies, don't be afraid of this bargain priced collection. I downloaded it at five bucks, but I noticed volumes two and three are also only 6.99 each, so you could have about as much Zombies as you'd ever need for under twenty dollars. Considering how difficult it is to get decent collections from some other bands of this era, these are a real deal.

If you love the Zombies or just 60s Brit Invasion music in general, you will love this collection. My daughter bought this and put it on her iPod for a road trip. Every time an unfamiliar track would come on, and there were many, I'd say, "who's this?" thinking it was some new indie band like Tam Impala or something. Even as a long time Zombies fan, I was stunned by the timelessness of many of these tracks and realized how paltry my own Zombies collection knowledge is. Well, now it is more complete. This collection demonstrates what a heavy hitter this band really was, both writing and performance-wise. I put them right up there with The Kinks after hearing this. And for for me, that is a significant comparison. If you want something "new" from an old favorite, this album has plenty of pleasant surprises for both the 60s connoisseur and the new initiate!

This collection has many excellent songs by an excellent group. It has a powerful, raw, 60's sound. Great quality while maintaining the fidelity of the era.

Twenty song collection of one of Britain's most under-rated / under-appreciated '60's band if there was ever one. every bit a wonderful as their 'Singles A's And B's' CD out for awhile now on the See For Miles label (see my review). But with many must-hear / maybe lesser-known Zombies songs. Tunes like "Smokey Day", the awesome British Invasion gem "Sometimes", both edits of "A Rose For Emily", the '60's standard "Road Runner" and one that I simply don't remember at all "Work 'N' Play". Let's not, of course neglect those more familiar Zombies goodies such as "Time Of The Season", "Woman", "What More Can I Do", the always-inspiring "Summertime" and "She's Not There". Highly recommended.
