More About the Author

Harper Lee wrote a great book. No, it was a really, really great book. From the first time I read "To Kill a Mockingbird" I knew I wanted to be one of two things, a writer or a lawyer. And, well, I'm definitely not a lawyer. But, like Harper Lee, I wanted to someday tell a great story and maybe inspire some people along the way. I don't have a fancy bio or resume, I'm just an ordinary woman who always loved to write. I went to college, worked for a couple magazines and a newspaper, tripped and fell into the web design business when the newspaper market took a nose-dive in 2008, and now I work in marketing for Goodwill Industries. Oh, and I got married and had a baby somewhere along the way, all while hoping that someday I'd have a good story (or stories) to tell. So that's pretty much me in a nutshell ... that, and I have a passage from "To Kill a Mockingbird" tattooed on the inside of my arm. Did I mention that was a pretty good book?

I loved this book. The fully fleshed out characters with stories that built over the course of the book. Very unexpected twists throughout. I can't wait to read whatever the author has available next.

My only complaint was that I truly couldn't stop reading. I started it as a quick read before bed and found myself wanting to finish to see how it all ended. I finally finished at 4am after an attempt to stop and get to sleep. I couldn't fall asleep from trying to figure out how it would end for Ellie and Joe.

So make sure to read this on a weekend or on a night when you don't have an 8am work meeting! :^)

If you are looking for a page-turner, you have found it! "The Other Side of Silence" is full of twists and turns that will keep you reading into the night. Joe and Ellie, Grace and Alfred - the characters jump off the page and their stories are full of emotion.

This book does not disappoint! And Klinger-Krebs is an author to watch. Would highly recommend this book.

The story line of this book is very different. While it did keep my interest, I was distracted by the number of grammatical errors and proofreading errors in the book. Does anyone really proofread these e-books? For example, if you undo something it is not spelled "undue". There were also numerous errors in the use of pronouns. Re: the book itself, I found the ending quite unexpected and a bit disconcerting. It really didn't seem to flow naturally from what had preceded it.

I read this in one day, I had to see how it ended. The back story was fascinating and I really enjoyed it for the most part.

The things I did not enjoy were:

1. Some typos and grammatical errors, but there weren't too many compared to some Kindle books I've read. Still could have used some more proofreading (kind've would be a contraction using kind and have, which makes no sense!)

2. Could have done without the sex innuendos/descriptions. Certainly not pornographic, but I can't remember now if there was any mention of that in the description. I just prefer not to read material like that so it would be nice to have known in advance.

3. Several instances with foul language. I think the author could have conveyed the same message without the use of the F and C words.

Overall, it was an enjoyable read. Just wanted to let others know of the potentially offensive content.

I really liked this book. The story moves back and forth from the past to present. It moves back and forth from Ellie's view to Joe's view. There are so many little twists along the way. It is so well written that you can see yourself there with the people in the story. I could see the farm, the horses, the fields, the hospital, etc. There were a few words in the wrong place or the wrong words in a sentence, but not enough to not understand the meaning, and not enough to totally distract you. There was one glaring error in discussing the tree in front of the old woman's house... it changed back and forth from an oak tree to a walnut tree a few times! I don't know why, but I found THAT distracting! Otherwise, it is a lovely, but bittersweet story of love, life, betrayal, sadness, and even some happiness.

Overall, I recommend this book. It is a very touching story that will have you wondering all the way to the end.

Good story with an underlying life lesson. The only drawback was the repetition of story facts. A good reader does not need that. It is only page filler and makes the story drag.

A description of this book is difficult. It's a page-turner. It's a mystery. It's not my genre, yet I eagerly read the book in two days. Try it...you may like it. I did.

This is a good book and I would recommend reading it but at the same time it never peaked much for me. I was hoping for a climax which never came, but was still happy reading chapter after chapter.
