4.0 out of 5 stars honest poignant memoir April 2, 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I found this book very poignant and the author very courageous to be so honest in dealing with her emotions. I think many women will relate to her experiences. The story spans about 25 years and it took her that long to come to the point in her life where she could find herself and move on. She doesn't gloss over the difficulties and the time it takes to heal and forgive. Very realistic, I could not put the book down, but I found the structure and format ( I read in on my Kindle in e-book format ) to be disjointed. I had to re-read the sentences several times because the punctuation simply was not there at times. I don't know if that was because of the e-book format or the author's style of writing. This is why I gave it a four star instead of a five star. It definitely is a book which makes you think about women's issues and the men we live with!

5.0 out of 5 stars There is magic in this memoir. March 20, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I found the book in JFK last December with a hand written note from the author.Magic? Mistake? Lost? She spoke to me as if by fate. After reading her story framed in streaming conscienceness of poetry, pain and pleasure, I feel almost a kinship to this woman. I applaud her courage and creativity in getting the word out about abuse and rising from it. I look forward to more of her work.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disjointed June 18, 2011
By sully
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Poorly written. Would have to wonder if an editor even glanced at this manuscript before publishing. I am left wondering if it was written in Italian and translated to English? I kept turning back, thinking I had missed pages, but no, it was just severely disjointed.

Could have been a better story. Sometimes the story seemed scattered, fragmented...causing me impatience and irritation. As a whole, it was okay.
