My three year old LOVES this book. We got it out from the Steiner School library about five times so I ended up buying it, and he loves it.

I'm a big fan of Loop Koepman's illustrations and he doesn't disappoint in this book. The story is just ok though. Cute enough for a toddler, but a 7-8 year old may wonder "is that it?"

Still, on the strength of the illustrations I'd get it. But for a better story by the same artist, get Stella and the Berry Thief. That is a marvelous book!

A very cute story that is like the Little Gingerbreadman. I will use it with
my class when we do our pancake theme.

My grandmother used to tell us this story - passing the book along to my niece. Great book, lovely illustrations.
