About the Author

Amanda Weatherill is the Patchsmith – a pattern designer who enjoys producing easy-to-follow patterns for small table quilts called ‘mug rugs’. Although Amanda has been designing quilt patterns for many years it is her mug rug patterns that have made the Patchsmith a trending designer. And just in case you’re wondering, mug rugs are small quilted mats used to rest a cuppa and a cookie. Larger than a coaster but smaller than a place mat, a mug rug is the perfect way to add a touch of colour and fun to any table or desk. Living in the English countryside, Amanda uses quilts and fabric to create a unique and cozy home. Each month she updates the mug rug on her work table to reflect the changing seasons, celebratory days and her personal love of colour. Mug rugs have become her passion and her philosophy is simple – share this passion so that everybody has the opportunity to create a little piece of fabric art for their home.
