The Path Of Most Resistance is a passionate, personal statement on advanced strength training the "Arthur Jones" way, by author and lecturer, John Turner. This is a no-nonsense, common sense, brief history of significant personalities who contributed a major impact on the "golden years" of bodybuilding, before the advent of the chemistry which has all but destroyed its vast potential to enhance the quality of life. Mr Turner, who takes the benefits of strength training very seriously, pays tribute to outstanding role models, such as Reg Park whose physique and character helped formulate a young man's goals in training and in life.
The great magnitude of The Path Of Most Resistance focuses on the powerful legacy of Mr Turner's mentor, Arthur Jones, the unquestionable genius behind the invention of Nautilus machines and training principles. Mr Turner offers the facts behind the equipment that revolutionized an industry and improved the lives of a generation of young men AND women. I especially enjoyed Mr Turner's opinions on "the best of the best Nautilus machines" and his insights and stories scattered throughout the book, interspersed with the factual evidence which separated Jones and Nautilus from imitators whose only contribution was to "ignore, ridicule, attack, copy and steal."
This is a book that is an easy read and can be simply referenced by any enthusiast who is looking for the most efficient way to realize his or her full physical potential.

If you have heard of Arthur Jones as all serious trainers have... you will enjoy the journey of John Turner's new book; The Path of Most Resistance.

If you haven't heard of Arthur Jones and your a "professional" in the fitness industry... you owe it to yourself to learn about this man. John Turner's book is a good place to start and then go to his web site and read the "almost forgotten" writings of the godfather of logical resistance training, Arthur Jones.

I have just finished reading “The Path Of Most Resistance” by John Turner. Although this book is only 126 pages, like many great books it makes up in valuable information what it lacks in length. As the sub-heading says, this book is loaded with everything one might need to achieve physical superiority. There is nothing which is of no use. Mr Turner shares his unique perspectives garnered from years of personal exploration. Those who take the time to read, absorb, and most importantly apply the lessons contained within its pages, will be rewarded (perhaps for the first time) with real results for their efforts.

I highly recommend that anyone with an interest in exercise history, Arthur Jones, Nautilus equipment, and real training information, pick up a copy of this book A.S.A.P. Read, pay attention, apply what you learn, and most importantly work hard. The results will most likely surprise you.

John Turner's book has blown the doors open on the myths and fads of muscle building exercise. Anyone who is interested in the physical development of their body cannot help but benefit from applying the wisdom of Arthur Jones that is central to the book. You will learn how Jones improved upon conventional barbell training with the development of the Nautilus line of exercise equipment. Although you will not have to throw away your barbells to have success, you will discover that long workouts with an endless number of exercises and sets are not the most productive way to build muscle and strength. The author's passion for resistance training, as well as his knowledge of the history of bodybuilding, is evident throughout the book which makes it a must read for both the novice and advanced strength athlete.

Reading John Turner's "The Path of Most Resistance" was a joy to read. You can sense Mr. Turner's enthusiasm for training and the ideas of Arthur Jones. Most will find his unique explanations: of full range exercise, the indirect effect, training hard and long, training hard, muscle confusion, infimetrics, akinetics, hypers, and squats, to be interesting, and entertaining. Not to mention several chapters are an education in training history. Ultimately, the reader will be re-motivated to training hard and will begin to comb the internet for "steals" on classic Nautilus equipment!
