What a great book. Whether you believe in pet psychics or not, the author had done a great job at making the reader understand that animals have feelings and deserve our love and respect. The message she relays is deep and profound and has you remembering it long after you've set the book aside. I honestly believe her book should be required reading for all pet owners.

The stories she describes are well written with dialogue and pictures from the animals, and holds your attention till the end.

The "happy ending" stories were wonderful, but what was most moving to me was the heartbreaking stories as told through the voices of the animals. As I read them, something changed in me. I began to realize that I was treating my pets as animals instead of living creatures: living creatures with feelings of happiness and sadness, as well as unconditional love.

I feel I now have a better understanding of my pets and treat them far differently than I had before. And the result of this change has been fairly dramatic: I can honestly say that our cat is happier and responds to me in a much friendlier, warmer way. What a nice surprise.

I ran across "The Pet Psychic Diaries" at Kindleboards and thought it sounded like a fun read. Jeanne Miller did a good job of stringing together some of her experiences as a Pet Medium into a charming book, complete with photos that translated well to the Kindle format. Even if you're not a true believer in such things, it's entertaining to think of all these "dumb" animals having something to say, often very wise and loving. I'm sure Jeanne gives her clients a lot of helpful insights from the impressions she receives from the pets. I must admit, I'd never considered mice as having personalities, but I'm open to the idea that all of God's creatures have their own special sparks. All in all, a gentle, caring book.

I don't know what I was expecting, but what I received was a heartwarming read and stories of animal interactions that I don't believe I will ever forget. I loved the pictures of each pet, it was so much fun getting to know these animals and see them too (and I kinda want a raccoon now). Talking to animals has always been one of my greatest wishes...if only I knew what they were trying to tell me with the little chuffs and meows and facial expressions! The Pet Psychic Diaries may not answer the question of what my pets are saying, but it did shed light on some of their behavior - and I've come to the conclusion that they are pampered to the point of being spoiled rotten ;). This is a great book for all animal lovers!

More About the Author

My name is Jeanne Miller and I'm a Pet Psychic Medium/Author living in Vermont.

Residing with me is my rescued Siamese cat, Simon Pasquale, and his pet mouse or mice of the day. Currently, three white mice rescued from the feeder bin. As the store employee said when she pulled them out of a huge tank: "You guys got lucky today."

My first book The Pet Psychic Diaries recounts readings from my first year as a working Pet Psychic.

Pet Chatter is a book of quotes from the pets I've spoken to over the past few years. I've separated their quotes into topics, and boy, did they have a lot to say.

The Red Balloon is a children's book written in verse. It is quite short and doesn't contain images. It would be perfect to be read to a very small child, but I'm told the adults like it too.

Dual is a sci-fi short story about a parallel universe that I recently published under my pen name, JC Miller. It is very dark and dystopian; a real departure for me.
