Book Description

Tired of looking for motivation outside of yourself?

Disappointed when you don't 'feel' motivated to build your dream life?

This book shows you another way to go about it. The source of real motivation comes from inside you and you can draw from this source to get everything you want in life. The author shows you how to do that in practical actionable steps with the 8 pillars.

**Inside, the author invites you to her FREE 21-Step Confidence Building program as a special reader gift.**

The book shows you how to tap into your motivation source, and why that is the key to finding your life purpose and exactly how you can end your obsessive goal-setting (and failing) patterns and move effortlessly towards your desires.

When you learn how to use this source of power inside of you:

You will be motivated to do great work, to create, to bring your ideas to life.
You will be motivated to get healthy and vibrant and get in your ideal physical shape.
You will be motivated to start that business or write that book.
You will be motivated to get out of debt and build your wealth.
You will be motivated to be a role model for your family, friends and community.

The author takes you through the 8 pillars of motivation to help you push past the resistance that comes up when you want to do the things you crave but still get stuck.

As a result, you will become unstoppable as you pursue your desires.

In this book, the author tells you about 8 pillars of motivation that have transformed her life as she moved from Iran to Turkey and then to the USA, as she built a successful corporate career only to leave it behind for her true purpose, and as she explores the real power of motivation with you so you can do the same in your life.

The 8 pillars show you how to set aside goals and deadlines and milestones and instead, unlock your real potential - what you are really meant to do in life - in a more effortless and natural way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Find your motivation and purpose July 11, 2011

An excellent read in several ways and on several levels - for those of us looking for our true passions and purpose, from corporate America to entrepreneurship and to living to the fullest.

The author illustrates key, personal experiences that led to her overall motivation and journey to discovering her true purpose. But this is also a guide for those wishing to do the same. Clearly organized steps and mixed with storytelling is a great way to reflect and evaluate your own purpose and motivation.

Highly recommended for anyone wishing to better themselves and looking for greatness.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The author did a wonderful job of not just simply telling you,"go live your dreams", but gives tools to help determine what those dreams ARE. After you analyze what your purpose and passion in life is then you can begin to implement the principles for how to get there. This book is both insightful and encouraging, like having your own life coach that you can pick up at any time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely A Must Read July 11, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book and found it so amazingly helpful, inspiring and motivating.

It is extremely well written and Farnoosh does an excellent job of breaking down a lot of really helpful information into easy to understand and follow steps. I think what I like about the book the most is that Farnoosh shares 3 very engaging stories and so you get to also enjoy the personal stories she shares while you learn a lot of practical information. It just doesn't get much better than that.

If you are looking to accomplish anything or need some extra motivation, this is so the book for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Journey July 31, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Lately I have been in a funk; a hard to explain funk. I tried discussing with friends and family, and they were of little use - sympathetic yet usually commented, "how can you feeling like this, you are successful.." And, they are right. Almost every goal I set for myself I obtain - good health, career, travel, family, etc. but something felt... "off".

One day I sat down with my Kindle and began going over sample books that might shed some light on my situation, and that is when I discovered Farnoosh Brock's book THE 8 PILLARS of MOTIVATION. The sample struck an instant chord as Farnoosh detailed her similar situation whereby most people consider you extremely successful but you - yes you (the one who matters) - feel you are missing out on a greater purpose in life.

Purchased the full book and a few short hours later my eyes were open, and the steps required to balance all eight pillars were obvious. Farnoosh's book is thankfully short and to the point. It does not drone on with checklists, quizzes, and goals. Farnoosh treats you as an adult who has unlimited potential and explains how to understand the pitfalls and concerns that might hold you back.

Now, I certainly cannot "go for it" at this stage in my life - and this is where the book is key - the situation is not the same for everyone. Some might have financial commitments (kid's education) and cannot simply say "goodbye stable job" and become a chef / photographer / activist / writer / etc. But with real world situations outlined in the book, and understanding your purpose you can begin folding that into your daily life - and that is when the change occurs. You begin to see your daily life as not a roadblock but an enabler to get you where you want to be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Living one's life purpose June 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
The subject matter of this book came as somewhat of a surprise to me. I expected it to contain tips and tricks, possibly backed by an underlying theory, on how to increase people's motivation with whatever tasks need doing. What the book does instead is look at what it takes to unleash the maximum amount of motivation that a person can have, without being concerned with what that motivation is used for or how easily or widely applicable it might be. This leads the author to the subject of personal life purpose - the pursuit of which is naturally highly motivating - and on a quest to find ways to nourish, strengthen and sustain it through life. It is important to be aware of the book's focus because this kind of motivation is for personal consumption only; it cannot be used to motivate others.

Much of the text is drawn from the author's own life. Her experience speaks through the writing and gives the text an aura of credibility that cannot be readily obtained otherwise. I found it easy to relate to her - and her family's - struggles. No doubt this had a lot to do with us sharing a similar history. I had also found myself in a strange country as a youngster, thanks to my father's vision and determination to emigrate from Yugoslavia before the civil war broke out. This was followed by a degree and a career in the computer industry, which is now giving way to other pursuits, including writing. More than this, however, many of the topics that Farnoosh has raised also feature in my writing. This has enabled the book to strike a familiar cord in me to the extent that few others do.

Perhaps surprisingly for a book that is so preoccupied with the question of life purpose, it doesn't mention how one can discover what that purpose might be.
