This was really a fantastic book. Jim did a fantastic job of making you, the reader, understand deeply who Evan (the main character) really was. I found the characters complex and with depth.

I found Evans view of the world brought to light many of the obvious problems with the world, whist bringing to light the human condition though the ways in which he thought about said problems.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to think, laugh, and not get work done at their job because they cant put down a good book.

I'm so glad I came across Jim Dravec's promo video for this book on YouTube.
I cannot believe this is Dravec's debut novel. His sardonic style and attention to detail give the impression of an author who has been writing for years. He's so meticulous in describing the scenes and characters. It makes transporting yourself into Evan's world effortless. The protagonist, Evan, hates in a hilariously intelligent manner. I thoroughly enjoyed reading through not only his attempts to find love, but in his interactions as he becomes at peace with himself.
It's an addictive story that evokes laughter and tears, happiness and sadness. A great read at a steal of a price (I would have gladly paid $10 for this book).
Dravec's dark humor is something I want in my life again. I'm anxiously awaiting his next release.
Until then, I'll have to settle for joyfully rereading The Pinned Castle.

Everyone should read this book. It's beauty is beyond words. I've never felt such emotion for a character. Jim Dravec is on his way to stardom.

It's refreshing to read a book with characters you can connect with. You can tell that the author clearly cares about writing, he writes carefully, but with a certain vigor. Definitely worth a read. A good book to get you back to the roots of writing about real human emotions and life.

Jim does an excellent job at painting a portrait of a life filled with black, gray, and browns, Evan's view of the world is much like his life in general, bland with a touch of pseudo excitement here and there. Very solid characters reflecting the mediocrity of modern life helps you to draw personal comparisons. A solid read over all. The things that I didn't like about the book have more to do with personal tastes than they have to do with weather or not the book is "Good". I think it would be a great way for someone to spend their Saturday afternoon pick up the Pinned Castle.
