Book Description

THE APEX OF TERROR

The Pitchfork Diaries is a collection of short stories and prose unlike anything you have ever read before. Even the darkest and most violent imaginings of your mind cannot come close to matching the horrors contained within.

J.S. Bannerman, a new name in the horror genre, has skilfully woven a collection of tales that will inescapably work their way into your psyche, take up residence and relentlessly haunt you. Prepare yourself to be confronted by words that will threaten to shake the foundation of everything you thought you knew; no truth is too uncomfortable, no thought too gruesome to share.

All are invited to read the Pitchfork Diaries. Many will never be the same.

Born and raised in the church, J.S. Bannerman has taken the dangerous stance to question events that have been spoon fed to him as the truth since his childhood. He continually pushes boundaries as a purveyor of terror and often strives to find that disquietude that exists inside each one of us.

He is a nomad, calling no one place home; choosing the life of a traveler while on the mission of writing the Family of Dog series. As a result you may find him in your town, writing at your local pub, crafting tales of horror so terrifyingly depraved and heartbreakingly cruel that you would never believe that they come from a mind as normal as his. Just beware, because within each tale is a message; it’s just up to you to figure out what it means.

1.0 out of 5 stars Amateur Hour September 26, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
If you took a scrabble board, threw all the pieces up in the air, and then wrote down the words that were there, you would pretty much capture the same amount of intelligent writing captured in THE PITCHFORK DIARIES By Jake Bannerman. This is not horrific in any way except that it's scary how lame it truly is.

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT PURCHASE December 6, 2012
Warning....This review is full of truth and facts. Read only if you can handle the truth.
This book is complete and unadulterated crap. As one of the previous reviewers wrote...If you threw words up in the air and wrote them down in the order they landed you would have this book. Not even worth the 2.99 ....not even worth it if it was FREE!! Avoid at all costs. Hail and Kill would be the appropriate words for this collection of poetry and short stories. Its hard to imagine anyone liking this, except the author...and his Reverend.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Apex of Terror - Indeed! September 12, 2011
This blends humanity's darkest side with extreme horror images.

WARNING: This is recommended to individuals 18 and OVER who love EXTREME HORROR! This is not a gore-fest, but rather a twisted series of psychological torment/emotional pain/acute terror!

These are well written, short stories. But there's more - The author punctuates these with dark prose/poetry. Each one a tiny musical glance at horror!

Read it if you dare!

NOTE: A lot of the credit for this book should go to the editor Kate Monroe and ghost writer (anon). Jake provided the vivd imagination.
