Format: Paperback
Dryzek does a good job of synthesis in this book, and provides useful ontologies for identifying and contrasting various discourses. The book is written at an intermediate level of academic depth and is an easy read. As good as any academic book on the topic I have found.

While since this book was published the debate has moved on this is still an excellent guide to the any viewpoints. Some of those views may be unwelcome or incomprehensible until one understands how they developed and the background, what different assumptions are made and entities recognised. This books applies the same analysis to each without judgement and makes it easier to debate with holders of 'outrageous' beliefs - whichever faction you support.

Great book, very informative for those interested in political ideology. Not a super difficult read, but could have used a more meticulous editor (typos and a few awkward sentences here and there), though it doesn't detract much from the excellent content.
