Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

While its no doubt usually true that “nothing good ever comes from a story that starts: ‘you will never believe what I just saw in the bathroom,’” many good things come from this novel, the third entry in the Wimpy Kid–like yet distinctive series. As sixth grade winds down, best friends Lydia and Julie deal with issues such as a friend’s mother’s death, plagiarism, and the afore-referenced restroom graffiti in affecting and funny back-and-forth journal entries. Awareness of previous volumes will help, but anyone who goes to school will recognize the girls’ struggles and successes and cheer them on. Grades 3-6. --Andrew Medlar

It was really good. I definetly recommend it for ages 8-12. For fans of Wimpy Kid and/or Dork Diaries, this is great. Me and my 8-year old sister love it. I have read all the other books and recommend them all. Would make a perfect present for reluctant readers!

My daughter loves this series! It relates to most tweenage girls out there...stresses of "fitting in" can be so hard on kids today. This takes on almost a comedic view for your daughter...a definite buy if your daughter is 5th grade and up!

My daughter (10 years old) loves these books!

The content seems age appropriate and well done.

The book has a good amount of illustration as well, which has turned into a big selling point for my kid.

Hey, if it gets them to read, who cares!

Recommended book for 8-12 year old girls.

The Popularity Papers #3 is a pleasure to read. Upon asking my students wether they are familiar with the series, many Middle- as well as Elementary School children voiced the opinion that no#3 even tops no#2. The mere mentioning of the book brings big smiles besides positive reactions:" I could not put it down, I read all night, I give the book as a birthday present,I read the book so many times, I don't even know how many."
In two words: The Popularity Papers #3 is incredibly "NOT BORING".

My Eleven year old daughter read this and this is what she had to say: I read the first and loved it. I could not wait to read the second and third. This third book exceeded my expectations! The only thing that would make this book better is if it was longer.

This is a hilarious third book in a series for preteen girls. It puts a light and funny spin on the hardships and not-so-hardships of mingling in the social hierarchy of middle school. I laughed my head off while reading this book, and I can't wait to read the next. Some parents complain that the gay fathers of Julie Graham Chang are inappropriate content for the books, but I say let it be! They are HILARIOUS, for Pete's sake! It's not any worse than 99.9/100 of the books in the young adult section. Lighten up! This is a commendable book.

I bough this for my daughter and she has it in the iPad and it's about two girls trying to make themselves really popular. While trying to get popular they find themselves more in trouble than anything else and have to learn how to face the consequences of what they have done. They have to learn that popularity is not the most important thing, but rather to be respectful and good friends to as much people as possible while being yourself. This book is best for girls ages 9-13
