Most Helpful Customer Reviews

Format: Paperback
This is an introduction to the Post-Impressionism of the 1880s and 1890s in France represented not only by the giants - Cezanne, Gauguin and Van Gogh - but also by minor artists depicted as well by 180 illustrations including 80 in color. The Post-Impressionism is revealed through works of artists, their characters, theories, mutual competition, individual entrepreneurship, changing loyalties, and - of course - placed on them demands and pressuring critique.
