This is a great book for sharing your beliefs with your friends and neighbors in a non-threatening way. The writing style is easy to read. The author shares several stories on how he has shared his beliefs with his friends and neighbors. The central message in the book is to be genuinely friendly and invite you friends and neighbors to participate in the everyday events of your own life. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

Christensen blows apart any reason/excuse you have to avoid member missionary work. He breaks it down to the finest detail and then gives real world examples to back his theories. I look forward to this book changing my life and how I do my member missionary work. The thoughts and ideas here really hit you right between the eyes. For example, Bro. Christensen states that we should do member missionary work at our "work" and not fall into the deception that Satan has cast upon us that it is wrong or inappropriate to do missionary work at our place of employment. I have gained confidence to not be deceived and now have a game plan on how to appropriately discuss the gospel at work.

This book is full of ideas and insights on how to be a witness of God at all times and in all things and all places", or how to fulfill your calling as a member missionary. The author, a professor at Harvard, knows what works and what doesn't because he has tried practically every approach in his quest to be a life-long missionary. Anyone who reads this book will benefit from his many stories, so well written. If you are ready to improve your ability to share your most prized gift--the gospel of Jesus Christ--with others, you owe it to yourself to study this book carefully.

This book is awesome. Some of the things I already did, others were great suggestions on how to improve.I like how he focuses on principles of sharing the gospel rather than specific instances.

I am a skeptic by nature and sometimes Deseret Book titles seem too flowery for me; I am not the type to give a book 5 stars simply because it encourages the gospel and the gospel is awesome (I do agree that the gospel is awesome though). That said, this book is excellent and earns every bit of 5 stars.

It's extremely readable, has a very simple conversational tone, has some excellent thoughts and suggestions, and also serves as a very useful collection of case studies (which is no surprise, coming out of HBS). I'm guessing the author had a goal to share information and tips about missionary work, while simultaneously boosting readers up and even explaining some basic gospel concepts in a way we may not have heard or thought about them before. If the book works its magic, you will be on both the giving and receiving end of missionary work while you read it.

This book will leave you feeling good, but more importantly will give you some ideas you could start using tomorrow, or today. I also found that it sparked some good independent thought and ideas, both related to the topic of the book and not (I had two business ideas ideas, for instance, while reading this). The space for notes in the margins came in handy; be sure to read with a highlighter and pencil.

I'm only 80% through it, but I already decided that I'm going to buy several copies for friends and family, and that is the first for me with any book. And all this goodness for only $9, with free shipping and proceeds donated the missionary fund (and another 1% donated wherever you want it to go with Amazon Smile). It's a beautiful thing!

Great Book which has confirmed what I have tried to practice in my daily life. As a Ward Mission Leader I am trying to introduce the principles outlined by Elder Christensen. The Ward Missionaries together with our Bishopric are going to introduce a programme to six families based on the writings in the book. Individual families who we feel will participate will be given a presentation and then challenged to live the precepts. I have recommended the eBook to a number of friends and all my Ward Missionaries.

It is Life Changing.

As a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of 40 years it makes me want to be a Fulltime Missionary.
