As I continue in graduate school for nursing, I am required to take multiple nursing research classes. In past required textbooks, I have not found Burns and Grove very readable. However, this book is an exception to my experience with them. It is written in an understandable manner with ample examples that enhance clarification. I also very much appreciate the end of chapter summary that is common to all of their books.

Nursing research is complicated at best. This book breaks it down and makes it easier to understand. Research has complicated language and structure and this book helps organize the flow of research.

The workbook / study guide is to be used in conjunction to the book with the same name. Nursing research is not an easy task to understand, let alone understake. Having the study guide to deepen the understanding of the book is extremely helpful. Doing my course is greatly enhanced with this excellent book!

I don't know about anyone else, but I find research a boring topic to write papers about. This book broke everything down well and when writing papers it was easy to find what I was looking up a definition or process for. I would recommend this book for someone taking a college nursing research course... but a book can only do so much for material that's so dry.

It served the purpose for my evidence based research course. I really did not read it much; as the professor often times made copies for the class session. However, I know it will be reused for many more courses to come.....

Not only for nurses: This book is great for all health care professionals who want to learn research. If you have this book, and the Polit and Beck, and the Qualitative research book by Creswell, you do not need any more books for Research if you are doing a post grad, these three will be enough.
