"Presentations are no longer just for the 'experts' and outside consultants. The need for training on how to make winning presentations is greater than ever in this information age. I know of no other resource that is this comprehensive in its offering of useful content that relate to making top notch presentations. Besides being an indispensable resource for those who are new to staff development, this book also is a MUST for the veteran presenters like myself. . . . I will immediately begin to apply the practical suggestions offered in this resource. Garmston really knows the realities of presenting to teachers and his suggestions work!" --Lori Oczkus, literacy consultant
About the Author
Robert Garmton is professor emeritus, School of Education, California State University, Sacramento and director of Facilitation Associates.
I attended Bob Garmston's training and was amazed by his humble, approachable demeanor, despite his obvious intelligence and wisdom. The book has the same type of humble tone that's so often missing from the world of practical education books. He covers the aspects of presentation that are often neglected in other books, including the role of identity in approaching a subject, the filters we bring, the types of questions we use and the "packaging" of ideas into types of formats. I expected another book about keeping slides pretty and clean and minimal. Instead, I was blown away with the depth of insight I found throughout it.
