Book Description

February 7, 2012

SHE'S ABOUT TO BE CALLED IN FOR A DRESSING-DOWN...

Rachel Delaney, divorced mother with two boys, isn't complaining. Her life is fine. Really. There is one thing that could make it better, though: a strong, warm, male body to help her make it through the occasional lonely night. No strings, and no relationship, thanks. Just a little fun with a perfect stranger. And there's no more perfect a stranger than Rand.

He's tall, blond, unattached, smokin' hot, and looking for the same thing Rachel is: wild, abandoned sex with no limits, no last names, and no complications-until Rachel's eldest son gets in trouble in class.

Only then does Rachel discover that her down-and-dirty, dangerously sexy mystery lover is also the new school principal. They're not exactly the ideal role models for a troubled student acting out his own frustrations. With Rachel's life turned upside down, Rand's the only one who can make it right-by maybe taking their hot-bodied hook-ups into a warm-hearted new direction...

5.0 out of 5 stars It's good to be bad February 9, 2012
Format:Paperback
It's been a while since I've read such exciting sex scenes. So completely sexy, so well-written and sensual, so very naughty and bad. I loved it all. This book is every fantasy you've ever had; there is voyeurism, exhibitionism, public sex, rough sex, rape fantasy role play, loads of sweet, dirty sex talk... One scene just better than the next. But more than the sex, there was also a very good story here.

I liked that both h/H are forty years old, more mature, so deep, so ready for more, especially Rachel. Newly divorced, her husband having left her for the cliched pretty young thing, Rachel suffered rather passionless sex in a dull seventeen-year marriage to a clueless and boring man. Then she meets Rand, that gorgeous hunk of maleness resembling a Viking marauder, all assertive, dominating, and most of all, deliciously kinky. I loved him, one of my favorite heroes now. He takes Rachel from the safety of vanilla and into the freedom of kink and risk-taking.

Rand is so confident in his sexuality, in his needs and desires. He knows what he wants, and he's not afraid to take it. I loved this boldness about him. He oozes sex but not in a cheap, indiscriminate way. He is just fun and passionate and adventurous, everything Rachel has never experienced with a man. To see Rachel open up to Rand and to see her explore and own her own sexuality was liberating. I love to see that happen for a woman. It's yours so own it and control it and enjoy it. And she did, with Rand's help and tutoring.

Along with all this sex play and exploration, we also get the wonderful taboo of teacher/student. Although not in the traditional sense of that theme, Rachel is his student for all intents and purposes. He teaches her everything she needs to know.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steamy and surprising August 26, 2012
Format:Paperback
This was a delightful surprise! I found this gem listed as a suggestion when I bought another book and decided to try it. I expected it to have a decent amount of sex, and it did, but was completely floored by the amount of character building included. The book described a wide variety of sexual experiences ranging from flirting to fantasies, role-playing to voyeurism.

I loved watching Rachel grow from a tired, beaten-down divorcee (though not a mouse) to a woman confident in her sexuality. I found it very easy to relate to the characters. The author did a great job with the characterizations of Rachel and Rand as well as the ex, the kids and Rachel's co-workers. I'll be re-reading this one and also reading the other 2 books in the series that deal with Bree and her guy and Erin and Dominic.

The hero and heroine are a little bit older than many written about today. At 39 and 40, they each have some life experience yet quite a lot of life left in them, no inexperienced miss fresh from the schoolroom making her first appearance to the ton here. It was quite refreshing to read about characters my own age with a similar past. I loved reading the role-playing scenes Rand and Rachel acted out. "Playful" doesn't even begin to describe them. This is a grown-up erotic romance, steamy and real. If you are looking for something with extremely simple sentences that reads like Penthouse or Playboy letters, you'll need to look elsewhere because this is excellently written, classy and has real depth to it. There's joy, laughter, tension, anger, frustration and much satisfaction.

My only complaint about the book is Rachel was a little wishy-washy while she grows as a character as a result of facing some really tough decisions.

Rachel Delaney is a divorced mother of two teenage boys, and she's lonely. Not only do her sons spend every other week with her ex-husband, she hasn't had a physical relationship for a very long time. She was too busy being a mom and dealing with her depressed husband to even think about sex. When she runs into a tall stranger at the supermarket one Saturday morning, it sparks some very naughty fantasies in her head. Then she bumps into him again, and agrees to have coffee with him if they bump into each other again. She isn't ready for a relationship, but coffee couldn't hurt. So when they bump into each other yet again--at a coffee shop this time--it seems like fate has stepped in. The pull of attraction is strong between them, and they agree to embark on a fling...with a few ground rules. No last names. No calling on the weeks that she has her sons. No talking about her to his buddies. No problem. She's overdue for the kind of wild, passionate, heart-pounding deliciousness he can deliver.

But there's a surprise waiting for Rachel: Rand is her son's high school principal. D'oh. If that isn't awkward enough, her older son is acting like a total jackass. Not only is he being a sullen jerk to her at home as he plays her against her ex husband, he's also bullying an autistic boy at school because of peer pressure. As a mother of an autistic child, I wanted to reach inside the pages and sucker punch the kid. Repeatedly.

This book glorifies bad language and dirty words, which irritate me when overused. It tries to make them sexy and the characters use them a lot because it turns them on. Read more
