Book Description

The Promise is book 4 in the Fallen Star Series.

My name is Gemma Lucas and my life’s a mess. Alex is gone, my dad’s trapped in his own mind, and my mom’s working for the dark side. Not to mention Nicholas refuses to quit haunting me.

The world has also entered apocalyptic mode. Everyday more vampires, witches, and fey run the streets. Innocent people are dying. The Mark of Malefiscus is showing up everywhere. And I’m the only one who can stop it.

The only problem is I have to die in order to do so. And I have to let Alex die. Something I’m not sure I can do.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Series January 8, 2013

Pretty good series. Read it with my teenagers like I have done quiet a few series in the past. Pretty much PG rated lots of action. Just wish that the main character was a lot stronger. She fainted one too many times IMO..

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS AUTHOR ROCKS!! September 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
WOW... just WOW!!! This author is just brilliant. Her books leave you lost for words. I was soooo sad that the Fallen Star series was coming to an end i swear i almost cried (much like when Vampire Academy ended). I didn't even know there was a spin-off series until i read it in one of Jessica Sorensen's interviews. and THANK GOD i found out because i was nearing the ending of this book and didn't know what i was going to do with myself. I have been reading ONLY Jessica's books for a couple of months now. If you want a good read i highly suggest getting all the Fallen Star series and check out her new book Ember.

2.0 out of 5 stars Editor must have taken some off days October 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Book was pretty good--however--there were so many mispelled words and words in the wrong place in this book I wonder if anyone ever edited it. I'm not a great speller or the best with punctuation and not typically bothered by some errors. This book is so poorly edited that my 10yo could have done a better job. If I were an author I would be embarrassed to release something like this.

Othere than the previous mentioned the story was a cute love story and it was interesting enough to read all 4 books within a month.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fallen ending. July 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
These series where amazing at the beginning, but it really felt like the author cramped so many mystical characters all in a nutshell. And the whole electrical surge and sexual tension between Gemma and Alex was really frustrating. And the ending! .... really where did the imagination go? Totally not what I expected.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad but a little simplistic June 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
No direct spoilers in this review but if you read on you'll probably be able to figure a lot out as you read the book. This book did a decent job of wrapping up the storyline but the ending was too simplistic. Everything that was any kind of action with regard to the conclusion was foreseen in advance, which meant when the end finally came there was little to tell. I felt that the "loophole" was pretty obvious well in advance too. In addition, I'm starting to get more annoyed with spelling and grammar errors in these apparently self-published books (it's a VIAL; vile is something disgusting, unpleasant or wretched!!). Overall I did enjoy the story though. Just felt that the repetitive things detracted a bit. Not sure if I'll read on into the next series with these characters.
