More About the Author

As an AF brat I lived in France and Newfoundland, both of which I loved, and at least half of the fifty states. As an AF officer, I served tours in Taiwan, Vietnam, the Pentagon, and the rest of the fifty states!

Now I'm having a blast putting all those adventures into my books.

As always, Lovelace delivers a book rich in details and sensuality, but also sharp with danger and intrigue. Her words bring to life the ancient Chinese kingdom and court of Wu Jao - she ropes in all 5 senses of the reader on this fast-paced time-travel adventure. The only complaint? I wanted more!! It was over with much too soon. I will certainly buy the other novels in this series.

Format: Mass Market Paperback
As part of Project Anasazi Air Force Lieutenant Cassandra Jones and Major Max Brody are sent back in time to the seventh century Chinese Tang dynasty in order to retrieve another piece of the twelve pieces scattered in time and place alien bronze medallion also known as the Karanovo Stamp. Once all the pieces are gathered and assembled, the stamp will enable Earth to join other worlds of the Pleiadian Council.

Max is uncomfortable with time travel and ET but trusts his former CO General (R) Ashton who recruited him from duty in Iraq. He does not trust his traveling companion Cassie as he holds her responsible for the accidental death of his friend Captain Jerry Holland at the academy where she was working as a weather officer. Using the device found in the Roswell crash, they go back to the reign of the Empress Wu Jao. However, he has no time for his suspicions and disdain when the alien Centaurian race tries to abort their mission as they want the Stamp. Cassie's uncanny weather changing sixth sense proves critical to them staying alive long enough to have a chance to accomplish the mission.

The latest Time Raiders romantic suspense science fiction thriller is a fast-paced tale that flows on two interrelated subplots. First there is the retrieval mission and second there is the major's personal investigative mission. Although the Centaurians seem like wusses in the seventh century and in Arizona, fans of the sage will enjoy the action-placed fourth entry (see The Avenger by P.C. Cast, The Seeker by Lindsay McKenna and The Slayer by Cindy Dees).

"The Protector: Time Raiders" is book four in a four book series written by four different authors about Project Anasazi. This story is interesting and clever, but not very romantic. That said, I did enjoyed this stories light action, imaginative sci-fi concepts and theme.

Project Anasazi is a secretly reactivated military program that sends modern day time-travelers (mostly psychically gifted) to the past, through time for the purpose of finding and recovering twelve small bronze medallions that complete a larger Pleiadian Medallion. This medallion when fully assembled will send out a signal to a galactic council telling them earth is now ready to join their galactic community. A powerful rouge alien race called the Centaurian's are trying to stop Humans from completing this Pleiadian Medallion. So time after time, military men and women are sent through time on dangerous time jump missions to find the alien planted, (hidden throughout time pieces), with Centaurian's aliens hot on their trail trying to stop them every single time jump.

This time jump is about USAF Major Max Brody and his "jump" partner a former Air Force weather officer and psychic, Cassandra Jones. A piece of the Pleiadian Medallion has been located in China, AD 674. Max and Cassy are going to "jump" back fourteen centuries to infiltrate the court of the most powerful women of the seventh century, Empress Wu Joa. Cassy is posing as a Irish sorceress slave captured by Vikings. Max is posing as the Viking warrior chosen by his chieftain to deliver Cassy to the Imperial Court as a good will gift to Empress Wu Joa. Here, our hero's Max and Cassy hope to find the hidden bronze medallion and return it safely to their time. The relentless and determined enemy Centaurian's are waiting for them.

I loved the characters and their adventures in this Time Raiders series very much. I found The Protector exciting and hated to put the book down. Merline Lovelace does a fine job describing the characters in her book.
I recommend this book and The Time Raiders series to all who love to read romance and adventure books

I have never read books ad fast as I a m reading these! I use every space minute I can find to get a fee more pages in. Cassie & Max were great and the details if ancient China were amazing. I felt like I was actually there too. I felt bad for Peony but Taj got his come-ups as did Kentar. Loved the singed privates!! Love the Time Raiders! Love to read!
