Isaac Watts wrote Hymns with the assumption that theology was necessary to worship. These are not tha pat simplistic platitudes that pass for worship songs now. These hymns teach as well as entertain. The psalter alone is worth the price. All psalms written in poetical form. The Gospel of Christ was written back into the Psalms on the reasoning that they were about Christ in the first place and that to sing them as Christians we must see Christ in them.

The kindle version is some sort of blind conversion. It has no markers for chapters or navigation other than page by page and text is laid out terribly. I am sure the book itself is great but it is hard to tell when I have only about 4 lines to a page with so much extra space and no good navigation or layout.

This book is a great resource, not only for personal worship, but for corporate worship as well. I highly recommend this resource for anyone who is seeking a deeper walk with the Lord, or to better understand the faith of a man whom God used so powerfully to change the face of corporate worship.
