What a great book. Whether you believe in pet psychics or not, the author had done a great job at making the reader understand that animals have feelings and deserve our love and respect. The message she relays is deep and profound and has you remembering it long after you've set the book aside. I honestly believe her book should be required reading for all pet owners.

The stories she describes are well written with dialogue and pictures from the animals, and holds your attention till the end.

The "happy ending" stories were wonderful, but what was most moving to me was the heartbreaking stories as told through the voices of the animals. As I read them, something changed in me. I began to realize that I was treating my pets as animals instead of living creatures: living creatures with feelings of happiness and sadness, as well as unconditional love.

I feel I now have a better understanding of my pets and treat them far differently than I had before. And the result of this change has been fairly dramatic: I can honestly say that our cat is happier and responds to me in a much friendlier, warmer way. What a nice surprise.

4.0 out of 5 stars Charming tails May 9, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I ran across "The Pet Psychic Diaries" at Kindleboards and thought it sounded like a fun read. Jeanne Miller did a good job of stringing together some of her experiences as a Pet Medium into a charming book, complete with photos that translated well to the Kindle format. Even if you're not a true believer in such things, it's entertaining to think of all these "dumb" animals having something to say, often very wise and loving. I'm sure Jeanne gives her clients a lot of helpful insights from the impressions she receives from the pets. I must admit, I'd never considered mice as having personalities, but I'm open to the idea that all of God's creatures have their own special sparks. All in all, a gentle, caring book.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Want a Raccoon! August 25, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I don't know what I was expecting, but what I received was a heartwarming read and stories of animal interactions that I don't believe I will ever forget. I loved the pictures of each pet, it was so much fun getting to know these animals and see them too (and I kinda want a raccoon now). Talking to animals has always been one of my greatest wishes...if only I knew what they were trying to tell me with the little chuffs and meows and facial expressions! The Pet Psychic Diaries may not answer the question of what my pets are saying, but it did shed light on some of their behavior - and I've come to the conclusion that they are pampered to the point of being spoiled rotten ;). This is a great book for all animal lovers!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Pet Psychic Diaries by Jeanne Miller June 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I found this to be a very sweet and charming book and also a very comforting one as well. The author's experience as a pet psychic seems to be a satisfying career and one she treats with respect, compassion and love. I'm not 100% convinced that the paranormal world exists, but this book makes it more convincing.

Thank goodness that there are people out there who love animals as much as Jeanne Miller does. Her desire to help them and their caregivers through talking to the animals both before and after life is admirable, and the help that she gives to their human friends seems to be both a comfort and a great help to them. It's also nice that Miller deals with not just small household animals, but with horses, raccoons and birds as well. I loved the horse stories in particular.

I talk to my five cats all the time, but so far they haven't talked back, but they do give looks. Cats do seem to be very intuitive and observant, so a lot of what the author says she hears from cats does seem to make sense. The book helped me to love my pets even more than I already loved them.

Highly recommended for animal lovers and anyone interested in the paranormal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pet Psychic Diaries April 5, 2012
By red pen
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read Ms Miller's book and enjoyed it. It is true to what I know about talking to living and deceased animals. My sister is an animal whisperer (she refuses to charge for her readings) and she and her husband both communicate with their own pets. Yes, everyone has the ability to talk with their pets. Not everyone knows how to do that. Yes, animals have spirits. Remember that Revelations describes animals in God's throne room? Anyone can talk to an animal loved one just by talking out loud to them. Anyone can communicate with their human and animal deceased loved ones by just talking out loud to them. They hear you and/or get the message. I don't care if you don't believe me. Truth doesn't change because of unbelief. Capisce?

A must read for all animal lovers! Still 24 hours later I'm laughing over some of the stories and thinking about others. A great, short read that will leave you thinking and thinking and not viewing the animal world the same way. Although I don't know the author, I wish to say Thank you, Jeanne, for sharing your experiences!

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring and Heartwarming April 11, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Imagine this scenario: In Japan, a psychic for pets gets a surprising number of calls from people who say their cats and dogs are highly agitated without apparent cause. When the psychic communicates with individual animals, each gives her short clips of the earth shaking and of a turbulent sea. She takes this information to local authorities who, because they realize that animals have advance warning of natural (and perhaps unnatural) disasters, make evacuation plans.

Would lives be saved if we believed that animals have valuable information to give us? The only way to find out is to adopt the belief. Animal communicator Jeanne Miller's account of her experiences with cats, dogs, horses, raccoons, mice, and other animals is a delightful and inspiring read for those who believe in our psychic connections with the animal world, and it can be an eye-opener for skeptics.

The book is written with great clarity and simplicity. The author lets the animals speak for themselves, and they have a lot to say. One cat blows the whistle on another for malingering and milking attention for being injured. Frank, a "lost" cat, says, "I'm not lost. I know exactly where I am" and describes abuse by one of the humans in the house.

This is not a how-to book. The author states that a number of good books are available for that. Her intention is to share a world with her readers, and a lovely world it is, full of strong-minded individuals who observe their humans with far more care than you might imagine.

I'm not sure about the pet psychic thing but part of me wants it to be true. Since most of my dogs were rescues I think it would have been nice to know about their pasts.

More About the Author

My name is Jeanne Miller and I'm a Pet Psychic Medium/Author living in Vermont.

Residing with me is my rescued Siamese cat, Simon Pasquale, and his pet mouse or mice of the day. Currently, three white mice rescued from the feeder bin. As the store employee said when she pulled them out of a huge tank: "You guys got lucky today."

My first book The Pet Psychic Diaries recounts readings from my first year as a working Pet Psychic.

Pet Chatter is a book of quotes from the pets I've spoken to over the past few years. I've separated their quotes into topics, and boy, did they have a lot to say.

The Red Balloon is a children's book written in verse. It is quite short and doesn't contain images. It would be perfect to be read to a very small child, but I'm told the adults like it too.

Dual is a sci-fi dystopian short story about a parallel universe, a doppleganger and treachery. My first foray into darkness.
