Judy has done it again!, January 11, 2011
This review is from: The Psychological Recession (Kindle Edition)
For the last 20 or more years, Judy has been an astute observer of how the business world affects our personal lives. She has a unique knack for seeing direct and indirect impacts of how business affects our daily lives. In this latest work, she continues this marvelous insight. This book shows that the economic recession that has affected the business world had lead to a psychological recession among many employees. This psychological recession may outlast an economic one. She offers practical and insightful insights into how an employee can avoid a negative emotional response to external business conditions. She also offers leaders insights into how they can help their employees and organizations respond to the demanding economic conditions in which we live.

Dr. Bardwick Continues to Provide Riveting Insight On the Psychological State of America's Population, January 17, 2011
This review is from: The Psychological Recession (Kindle Edition)
Dr. Bardwick has a winner with her latest book. She has built upon her previous research and books("Danger In the Comfort Zone")that starts in the early 1990s when corporate restructuring resulted in the loss of life long job security. In her follow-up book (One Foot Out The Door) she covers the psychological damage to employees after 15+years of continued uncertainy around job security.
In the Psychological Recession, she describes how anger, frustration, fear, etc., has now spilled over the Corporate/White Collar fence and out over America effecting most of the population.
Her research, analysis and findings are compelling. In conclusion, she provides specific actions that Business and Political leaders need to take to pull people out of this Psychological Recession.
This book should be mandatory reading for Supervisors, Managers,CEO's, Wall Streeters, and Politicians at the City, State, and Federal level. I also recommend the book to the general public, since each person has a role in executing many of Dr. Bardwick's action items within their sphere of influence.

Always the Right, But Never the Light Touch, February 2, 2011
This review is from: The Psychological Recession (Kindle Edition)
I've read a number of Dr. Bardwick's books. She invariably does a few things very well: she does her homework, she is topical, she makes us think broadly and she does not pull punches. Similarly, in "The Psychological Recession," an e-book follow- up to her groundbreaking book in 2007, she is thought provoking and accessible. I found myself agreeing with almost every concept and yet the book challenged me to think well beyond what was written. In the number of words normally set aside for a typical book's preface, she captured the crux of why we're in this mess and why we feel like we're mired in such a funk. Her explanation of our state of mind and feedback loop with our economy adds clarity to what our next steps must be. On a personal note, I've become very distrustful of late. Now I know why. But, if I follow Dr. Bardwick's flashlight, maybe I should feel optimistic about the future. Why? Because the first step in solving a problem is to understand its essence. It didn't take her very long to reveal that!
