More About the Author

Kerry O'Hallaron (1953- ) was born in St. Louis, MO. He attended college at the University of Missouri, and later "emigrated" to Florida. O'Hallaron refers to himself as an "American Entrepreneur." He has spent most of his adult life as a real estate investor, speaker/trainer, Internet marketer, and professional risk management consultant. His latest book, "The Public Speaking Gold Mine," encapsulates his years of learning, training, and speaking experience. In the book, he emphasizes his key differentiator, the notion that every presentation is (or should be) a sales presentation. This notion applies whether you are a teacher, preacher, trainer, or sales person. O'Hallaron says that if you are not selling your educational concept, religious precept, or product or service, then you are just talking. O'Hallaron says that "The Public Speaking Gold Mine" looks at the trainings in which he has enrolled in the past, and incorporates a single element from each of those trainings that he believed was "missing." It's his effort to deliver a product that is both unique and comprehensive.

I have been giving presentations since I was in college and now i'm into work for the last 3 years. Still public speaking is like a day 1 for me. Yet I take classes on English and have been helping kids improve on public speaking. After reading this book I was like "why didn't i find this book before?". Its an amazing book trust me. It lets out the fear and give you much more confidence to speak anywhere and any kind of topic.

I've started my own small business of art & craft decor items and now want to expand it. But I was a bit reluctant to talk to the big people in the market to sell my products. But now after taking tips from the book I have successfully managed to get 2 clients and trust me its very truly said in the book that everything you speak is for some selling purpose.

Thanks to Kerry O'Hallaron for such a wonderful book in the right time. Love this book and already gifting it to my friends.

I make my living with words, and have done so for more than 30 years. I like to think I'm pretty good at it. But I found myself saying over and over, "Wow!" when reading this book.

I'll bet you thought this book is just for professional presenters or speakers. Think again. This book is for anybody who has a message to communicate on any level and wants to go beyond being what the author calls "a babbler."

The central theme of the book - that all effective public speaking is a form or selling - is clear, memorable, and well-supported. And lest you think that sales is for people who hawk products and services, think again. Everybody sells.

This book is comprehensive, conversational in style, and in some places has enough humor to make the point even more memorable. You will love having this rich resource, whether you speak for a living or try to live avoiding speaking.

One thing that sticks to my mind after reading the book is the line that every presentation is a sales pitch. Being a student, I never thought that even a simple presentation at school would be considered a sales pitch but after the author's explanation, it did make sense. And this book not only provided me with information as to how to hook an audience with my presentation but it also provided me with ways as to how to make my presentations successful.

As I have said, this book helped me a lot in my presentations at school but it didn't end there. I was surprised when I found another part of the book where it discusses how to make successful presentations that is geared towards work and the professional world. With the information that was provided in the book, I was able to asses how I give presentations and how I can improve at it without having to take a very expensive course! This book is very beneficial to me not just as a student but just in general. It helped me become more confident as to how I act when making presentations or even when I am just talking to someone. It is full of information as to how to present yourself and your ideas to both the classroom and outside world. The organization throughout the book was impeccable with chapters aimed to address the different situations and areas where you might need to make a presentation to a large audience or even to a small group. I would definitely recommend this book as a guide to everyone - people who are professionals and are used to creating presentations and people who are unsure or might lack confidence in how to talk to an audience.

Think about how to offer more of yourself to your audience. They want to read your books, use your consulting services, and get to know you more... let them. The author took all his knowledge about presenting and combined it with understanding sales for companies to apply it to selling yourself. There is a lot of material here and I will be rereading it.

It's also helping as I complete and plan the launch of my next book.

Thanks so much for a compelling read.

Yours,
Ed Kaine

P.S. There are a very few typos or misused words (<10). The content and novelty of the ideas deserve a 5 despite this. I'm very inspired despite my pickiness when it comes to grammar.

Back when I was still in college I joined the campus chapter of Toastmasters International to improve my speaking skills. I've long since left that group, but recently my need to improved my speaking skills again came up. I bought this book and found it to be filled with numerous tips that are as good as anything I got while in my professional speaking groups.

The author presents his information in a clear, concise manner that doesn't waste a lot of time. As a refresher, I thought it was great, but the book is geared for newcomers to the speaking field. Someone who hasn't had the previous training I had will find it an extremely good primer with tips they can start implementing right away.

As a former member of Toastmasters this is a great tool to use. It is filled with golden nuggets of information that are helpful and informative.

I agree with choosing a niche topic - as many are ranting about nothing in particular, but by following the suggestions in this book I can see how one can prosper and begin to profit from public speaking. I wish I'd found this book earlier when I was a Toastmaster. I know I would have done really well. This was so inspiring that I am seriously considering getting back in to the game of public speaking. But either way I can still utilize the information for my business presentations in a fearless and persuasive manner.

Great gift for the gabber in your life or the entrepreneur; just in time for the holiday season.
