... I have both of the LP's from the '70's that are on the CD, so I have to jump right in on this one! I just love both albums! A real change of pace for both Josh and Kenny. It blew us fans away when the first album came out because we didn't know that Kenny was a great guitarist as well as fiddler! Although this CD has a few songs that are familiar to Graves fans, it also features several songs that Josh only recorded here( I key in on Josh because he did the vocals as well as the Dobro) This is not a Bluegrass CD. It's a bit blues and a whole lot of just good acoustic music. I won't comment on the songs individually because there's not a clinker in the bunch. I like every song on both albums. With me that's very rare! If I have any criticism it's the mix. It could be a bit better. But it's not a big problem. If you love Josh and want to hear some great flatpicking guitar as well as fiddle by Kenny. This one is a must. If you're on the fence with this one, go for it!!

A lovely reissue of two albums originally recorded for the Puritan record label, "Something Different," from 1972, and 1973's "Bucktime," pairing two bluegrass virtuosos, fiddler Kenny Baker up with dobro guru Josh Graves. These sessions are notable not only for the fluid, sympathetic interplay between two mellow-minded old-timers, but also for the chance to hear Baker playing guitar -- which he had to stop doing after an accident in 1977 that damaged the nerves in his left hand. And lemme tell you: it sure sounds sweet! A great mix of songs and rather adventurous instrumentals... well worth tracking this disc down!
