I was so happy with the lovingly-written "Q Guide to Designing Women" that within two days after receiving it, I'd already read it twice.

As a writer who has worked with Linda Bloodworth-Thomason since the show's original run in the late '80s, author Allen Crowe has all the inside scoop, and so his book is full of fun facts! I thoroughly enjoyed reliving the series thru this vivid book -- so much so that I'm now clamoring for the series to come out on DVD so I can go rewatch each episode and check for the elements Allen points out in each one.

For fans of "Designing Women" -- or just those interested in deconstructing what makes good comedy in general -- the utterly thorough and enjoyable "Q Guide to Designing Women" is a must-read!

I really enjoyed this book - it was like spending time with an old friend. Yes, you will find all your favorite quotes (I loved the dialogue from DW) and short descriptions of each episode of not only DW, but Women of the House (the show Delta Burke where played Suzanne as a Senator). There are also interviews with Dixie, Delta, Annie, Jean and Meshach - plus behind the scenes stories from various guest stars, members of the writing staff and the show's costumer (who shares what it was like to dress Noel the pig). I highly recommend this book to anyone who loved the show.

I purchased this book based on my love of the show. I read it in about an hour and while there were a few tidbits of fun, the author really just recounts main lines from the show. It's a fun recount of the program, but I was hoping for more personal insight, information, tidbits and other information not taken directly from the episodes. I would say that 80% of the book is episodic lines.

I loved this book!! This was my favorite series and my vhs tapes are pretty grainy, so reading about the girls was the closest thing to seeing them on tv. Now, thank heavens, they are starting to come out with dvd's. Thanks again to the author for this very informative book.

This is a enjoyable book full of trivia and other unknown stories about "Desinging Women" and it's legacy. It's a fun, easy read that won't take long to finish. The author clearly cares about the subject and it is filled with lots of fun things.
