Book Description

This book is a how-to guide for interviewers and interviewees to conduct their interviews most effectively. Especially for reporters and talk-show hosts talking to politicians, authors and celebrities, "The Quality Interview / Getting It Right on Both Sides of the Mic" offers a wealth of information on the essentials of having a good interview and presents pages of experience-taught tips on how to deliver the message effectively.

This book is also a tremendous tool for people who have important interviews or meetings, public speeches or testimony before a grand jury. It's for the corporate executive who has exciting news about a surge in the company's stock, as well as for the public relations flack who has to explain why the CEO tried to burn down the warehouse. Or for someone seeking a job; "The Quality Interview" tells you how to have a successful interview.

"The Quality Interview" was written by award-winning broadcast journalist Tony Seton who once produced Barbara Walters' news interviews and now conducts his own for the Quality News Network.

About the Author

Tony Seton is a professional writer, public speaker, business and political consultant, and communications specialist. Early in his career as a broadcast journalist, he covered Watergate, six elections, and five space shots, produced Barbara Walters’ news interviews, and won a handful of national awards for his business-economics coverage for ABC Network Television News. Later, he wrote and produced two award-winning public television documentaries. He has conducted over a thousand interviews and is the author of more than 2,000 essays and a dozen books. As a political consultant, Tony’s clients have included Nancy Pelosi and Tom Campbell. Other hats he’s worn include business consultant, teacher, media trainer, web designer, and engaging public speaker. In 2009 Tony began writing books telling about other's lives, and in 2010, he formed the Living Proof Project (LivingProofProject.com). He writes books and produces videos for clients, both as personal legacies and for business purposes. When he’s not working, Tony is flying, taking photographs, and walking on the beach....though even then he’s often communicating, with other denizens of the dunes, both human and avian.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tony Seton Gets it Right, Again! June 1, 2007
Format:Paperback
As a veteran news reporter and journalist, Tony Seton lays the groundwork for interviewers and personalities alike, in his concise and well written book, "Getting it Right on Both Sides of the Mic."

This book is an essential guide for reporters who would like to return to fact and logic over sensationalism; for everyday citizens who would like to be better informed voters; and for those of us who believe good government begins with a free and appropriate press.

I give this easy to read guide to the press and the public, 5 stars for its journalistic punch!
