If you want to know where you are in the world, or more aptly put; where the world with you in it is, this is the book for you.

Clearly and succinctly enumerates the measures and counter-measures of how the most defective of mentalities attempts to play us against ourselves everyday.

The danger in publishing is the everyone gets to read what you have written. Clearly, this book was not intended for the majority of the hands it fell into. Be sure of yourself and your intentions before reading.

This book was recommended to me by a friend. Once I started to read this book, I could not put the book down. I readily understood and identified with Meerloo's arguments. Meerloo exposes the failures of democracies and dictatorial systems. He understands that all man-made political and economic systems are susceptible to thought control. America is no exception. If you desire to protect yourself from subliminal seduction, read this book! I also recommend that one read Frantz Fanon's "Black Skin, White Mask".

Joost van Meerloo deals with the phenomenon of the rape of the mind. The book makes us aware that the rape of the mind, which comes in different guises, already started a long time ago in the past. But even today we are subjected to systematic mental pressure such as the brainwashing attemped by the mass media. The unconventional structure of the book allows the author to deal with a wide range of aspects of the topic, such as Medication into Submission, Fear as a Tool of Terror, Technology invades our Minds, the Turncoat in each of us. The book is not only for experts, but also for the general reader.

Although this book deals with political ideology, I find it is beneficial for people who may be suffering from psychological emotional disorders. The book can be used as a tool in understanding how psychological emotional disorders develop and impact of how the disorders affect our thoughts, behaviors, and actions.

This is a highly standardize work written by a DR who suffered through the Nazi mind control experiments and techniques used during WW2. Its these techniques that all intelligence agencies of the world is built upon. When I was in college, it was considered a textbook on the subject. 60 years after its first publication, it is still consider a opus on the subject.

The author walks you through his experiences. He does offer keen and sharp insight in the foundations of mind control. Being this volume has been a standard since the 50'5, do not expect to find any new material such as synthetic telepathy, or any of the MK Ultra experiments conducted by the CIA/DIA. It is an inseparable work for understanding the foundation of modern mind control, and Covert Hypnosis For the history buff, it is a compelling work, for the average reader, most will find it fascinating though in some locations in the text, quite dull.

There is very little technical date included in this volume. It's more like a autobiography than a series work on the subject. I'm not contradicting myself for his personal 1st hand experiences at the hands of the Nazi mind control machine, there is none better for to the skeptics it shows that even a highly educated mind can be broken.

Dr. Meerloo presents first hand accounts of experiences with the totalistic organism known as the NSDAP. His research is thorough and well presented. Anyone interested in thought reform, or menticide as he labels it, should add this book to their reading list.
