So far, I have gotten what I paid for. Mediocre work with poor editing. Granted, I'm only on the second book, and I'll update this review accordingly if something stands out.
However, the first book had numerous homophone mix-ups, run-on sentences, and other errors. The idea wasn't bad - not great, not terrible, just sort of "eh." A lot of the detail was repetitive, and the characters just did not stand up well. Honestly, I'm not even a Twilight fan, but even Bella and Edward seemed a little less flimsy than Stella and Seth.
The second book changes the opening setting from foggy and wet to bright and sunny within the opening paragraph. I am also noticing some of the same grammar issues that were present with the first book in this bundle.
Mistakes happen now and again. However, if they number so greatly or are so glaringly obvious as to jar the reader from the story, then that speaks to two things to me: rushed writing and sloppy editing.
I really do hope the rest of the bundle improves. I like seeing new names on the YA scene, as I feel that a good YA novel may be enjoyed by any sufficiently mature read, be they a member of the intended audience or not.
