I do enjoy the distinctive personalities we are able to follow on this franchise of RH. But I'm really, really disappointed on the focus on conflict between the women that has overtaken the whole series (RHNY and the other franchises). I thought that maybe RHNY would be more immune to this because there are so many different projects and interests going on in each woman's life. It's New York... there's a lot going on. But instead each and every episode now seems to center on one to two scenes of argument/conflict. It's at the point of being cliche. I've read the same observation from other viewers on blogs, etc. We want to know about the actual functioning friendships these women have, their marriages, their interests. It's distressing to see a previously enjoyable show get pulled so far into the conflict plots. It's not entertaining to watch women scream at each other, talk over each other, etc, multiple times every episode. Most women can't relate to this, and find it stressful and boring to watch. I'm predicting a serious downturn for RH over the course of this year as viewers get tired of the same old fighting.

I really enjoyed the first three seasons, but now that Bethenny Frankel is gone...the show is done. I must also share that it was absolutely annoying how Kelly Bensimone acted throughout Season 4. Her presence on the show, though hurtful to say, was unimportant in Season 4. In fact, hearing her speak made me cringe. Don't get me wrong, she is a beautiful woman, but beauty only goes so far. In Season 3, Kelly seemed to have emotional/mental issues, but then came back to Season 4 with superficial armor. It was almost as if she had gone to a therapist and learned three key coping skills (or communication phrases if you will), but in all fairness, the coping skills made her appear worse off than she was to begin with. The same few lines can only be used so many times before it is evident that they are just that, lines (aka armor to protect her fragile state of existence). As for the other cast members, if I had to choose a team, based on behavior, I would say Team Blonde (see Reunion). That said, LuAnn tried to be "classy," but was nothing short of passive aggressive. Jill was the typical "high school" female who claimed to be working on herself, when in reality she failed miserably. Throughout the entire season she continued to be hateful, hurtful, and jealous of the other women. And, for the life of me, I cannot determine why Cindy was thrown into the mix. Sure, she is a human being who is worthy of being successful and happy, but why was she on the show? How did her character make a difference? Bravo was really reaching when they added her. However, her babies are adorable and could have their own show and I'd happily watch them coo and smile. On the flipside, in my opinion, Alex deserved far more respect than she was given. She is a very intelligent woman. If Team Brunette would have given Alex the time to speak, they would have actually learned something and possibly found a true friend. Bottom line, Bravo should have stopped at Season 3.

Right out I will say I love this show! That being said, oh, how I would love to have a sit down with these ladies! But since I cannot, I will share what I would tell them in this venue...Jill and Bobby, you have a good thing going in your marriage. Don't let NYC drama come before your relationship. Bobby, you appear to be a very compassionate and giving husband--God bless you. Jill, you are a loving and giving woman but you listen to the wrong people and end up arguing over untruths which equals fruitless discussion. You're smart and funny and you don't need to waste your time on "he said, she said."
Bethany, you may be sharp-tongued but you tell the truth! I would trust you because I know you'd tell me like it is. Don't change. You are fiercely loyal and smart...not to mention, pee-your-pants funny. (your humor shows just how intelligent and observant you are) Women are taken aback by your brandishing truth but that's because they are afraid of the truth.
Sonja, my, my, my. There is an innocence about you that draws people to you--men and women. But you take advantage of that by not taking responsibility for how your behavior might effect others...listen closely...IN THE BIG PICTURE OF LIFE! You are kind and sweet but getting high is your worst enemy. Who will you be in 20 years?
LuAnn, you cannot sing...that producer is lying to you. You act entitled, you hold others accountable but not yourself. I want to say something nice but you're more worried about "appearances" than what is really valuable--your character.
Ramona, "...why do you have to be so mean?" Stop taking pills and drinking and maybe you will find "true faith.

The Real Housewives of New York City has always been my favorite Real Housewives franchise. I have always found the women to be wildly entertaining, maybe sometimes a little bit off putting, but that's what I like about them. They are all incredibly strong and independent women. I like that we often times see them fall down but watch as they get right back up. In the past, I would give this show 5 stars, however I felt that this season really didn't offer as much as the rest. With real housewife Bethenny Frankel gone, there is a wit about the show that seems to be missing now. I love Sonja Morgan and think it was a great decision on Bravo's part to keep her on as a housewife, but Cindy Barshop was a terrible addition to the show. She was boring and really just did not fit in with the other ladies. I found her to be underwhelming at best and honestly a poor example of a middle aged new mom. I think Bravo was trying to appeal to a new genre of women who are having babies in their 30's and 40's but it seems that Cindy stopped being a parent the moment she gave birth to them. She always has nannies and staff with her and it always looks like they are the ones taking care of the babies. I think Bravo could have done themselves a favor by just leaving it with the 6 ladies from previous seasons and not even including Cindy.
