2.0 out of 5 stars tired of all the conflict May 13, 2011
I do enjoy the distinctive personalities we are able to follow on this franchise of RH. But I'm really, really disappointed on the focus on conflict between the women that has overtaken the whole series (RHNY and the other franchises). I thought that maybe RHNY would be more immune to this because there are so many different projects and interests going on in each woman's life. It's New York... there's a lot going on. But instead each and every episode now seems to center on one to two scenes of argument/conflict. It's at the point of being cliche. I've read the same observation from other viewers on blogs, etc. We want to know about the actual functioning friendships these women have, their marriages, their interests. It's distressing to see a previously enjoyable show get pulled so far into the conflict plots. It's not entertaining to watch women scream at each other, talk over each other, etc, multiple times every episode. Most women can't relate to this, and find it stressful and boring to watch. I'm predicting a serious downturn for RH over the course of this year as viewers get tired of the same old fighting.

2.0 out of 5 stars Where is Bethenny? December 16, 2012
I really enjoyed the first three seasons, but now that Bethenny Frankel is gone...the show is done. I must also share that it was absolutely annoying how Kelly Bensimone acted throughout Season 4. Her presence on the show, though hurtful to say, was unimportant in Season 4. In fact, hearing her speak made me cringe. Don't get me wrong, she is a beautiful woman, but beauty only goes so far. In Season 3, Kelly seemed to have emotional/mental issues, but then came back to Season 4 with superficial armor. It was almost as if she had gone to a therapist and learned three key coping skills (or communication phrases if you will), but in all fairness, the coping skills made her appear worse off than she was to begin with. The same few lines can only be used so many times before it is evident that they are just that, lines (aka armor to protect her fragile state of existence). As for the other cast members, if I had to choose a team, based on behavior, I would say Team Blonde (see Reunion). That said, LuAnn tried to be "classy," but was nothing short of passive aggressive. Jill was the typical "high school" female who claimed to be working on herself, when in reality she failed miserably. Throughout the entire season she continued to be hateful, hurtful, and jealous of the other women. And, for the life of me, I cannot determine why Cindy was thrown into the mix. Sure, she is a human being who is worthy of being successful and happy, but why was she on the show? How did her character make a difference? Bravo was really reaching when they added her. However, her babies are adorable and could have their own show and I'd happily watch them coo and smile. On the flipside, in my opinion, Alex deserved far more respect than she was given. She is a very intelligent woman. If Team Brunette would have given Alex the time to speak, they would have actually learned something and possibly found a true friend. Bottom line, Bravo should have stopped at Season 3.
