Biography

KEB’ MO’

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Keb’ Mo’s music is a living link to the seminal Delta blues that traveled up the Mississippi River and across the expanse of America--informing all of its musical roots—before evolving into a universally celebrated art form. Born Kevin Moore in South Los Angeles to parents originally from the deep South, he adopted his better known stage name when he was a… Read more in Amazon's Keb' Mo' Store

Editorial Reviews

Keb Mo's 2011 album, The Reflection, is two years in the making and captures his musical spirit and virtuosity at its peak. Collaborating with such artists as India.Arie, Vince Gill, Marcus Miller, Dave Koz, and David T Walker, the songs have a deep emotional connection and show Keb to be a master at blending blues, jazz, r&b and soul through melody and rhythm.

If you're expecting to hear the usual soulful blues approach on Keb Mo's new album "The Reflection," you're going to be disappointed. If you go into it looking for some amazing songs with incredible vocals that have a unique blend of pop, R&B and jazz, you're going to love it! The album features an all star list of guest musicians which include Vince Gill, India.Arie, Marcus Miller, Dave Koz and David T. Walker. The results are phenomenal. Things get rolling with "The Whole Enchilada," a song with a ton of soul and a mid tempo groove that is catchy and melodic. "The Reflection (I See Myself In You)" is an acoustic tune with a beautiful melody and deep, meaningful lyrics. The song strikes me as so genuine and sincere you can tell it's right from Keb's heart. "Crush On You" has some of the most beautiful melodies I've heard in a long time. India.Arie has such a cool voice and she sounds incredible with Keb. I hope they release an entire album together! "We Don't Need It" is a great song with some awesome guitar licks. Every song on this album is expressive, infectious, and well written. The production is crisp and fresh, and I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Sleek, Sexy & Addictive October 5, 2011
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
"The Reflection" might be easy to dismiss. Fans who -- like me -- loved his early discs might find this music to be less engaging. But a couple of spins show that Keb's in a very positive head space. At its best, this is a romantic diamond. The opening track "The Whole Enchilada" is a track that would make James Taylor's mouth water. It pulses to a sexy beat and gently reflects on the responsibilities of a man in love, "Are you gonna be any better than the man you had to be to get her?" It's sleek; it's sexy; and it's incredibly addictive. The next track "Inside Out" gets a bit more punch into its groove with a classic soul chorus, "And let me remind you of a well-known fact, when you point one finger, three point back." This amazing one-two-three punch of stunning openers continues with "All the Way," a catchy sweet romantic track, "My life was liberated when I took a leap of faith." The other gem that has me hitting the repeat button is "Just Lookin'" with its funky toe tapping beat and Keb' smooth vocals as he turns down a romantic offer for the girl he's got at home. The rest of the set is strong, albeit "One of These Nights" probably won't make me forget the Eagles. Keb' Mo' is moving into a new phase of his career and does what he does superbly. Enjoy!

Keb Mo may have stepped out of his "blues" jeans with this one but he never disappoints when it comes to speaking to a woman!!

Keb Mo - Always Great!
Keb Mo delivers the goods again. He is amazing. His guitar playing, his music arrangements, his lyrics, his melodies - Keb is an artist in the truist sense of the word.
