Henry M. Morris (1918-2006) was one of the foremost biblical creationists of the late 20th century; he was also the author/coauthor of books such as The Genesis Flood the Biblical Record and Its Scientific Implications, The Scientific Case for Creation, Scientific Creationism, What Is Creation Science?, etc.

He wrote in the Preface to this 1972 book, "This book has been written in order to give busy, but interested, readers a brief summary of both Biblical and scientific reasons for believing in creation instead of evolution... The purpose of this book is to give a solid, though brief, treatment of the major aspects of the question of origins. The supposed evidences for evolution are shown to be incapable of more satisfactory interpretation in terms of creation, and the unresolved difficulties of the evolutionary theory are shown to be positive evidences for creation."

Here are some additional quotations from the book:

"...there are numerous localities around the world where supposedly older and simpler fossils have been deposited in layers vertically above layers containing 'younger,' more complex fossils... there seems to be no known present physical process that could produce such a gigantic 'overthrust' as this." This is a very average book.
I purchased it to review the contents because I disagree with the author and his assumptions about creation.
I'm glad that I was able to get the book... no reflection on the seller.
The seller was most helpful in sending a second copy when when the first copy did not arrive in about 4 weeks from shipping date.

What a great book, it really tells the story that all need to hear about. What a great way to tell the story of God's creation.

Not a science book. Its a free country and anyone can believe what ever they want, but let's be honest here. This book is simply a fundamentalist Christian text meant to help them cope with the overwhelming evidence in favor of evolution and somehow do the impossible, to reconcile their religious beliefs on one hand, and the discoveries of modern science on the other. All of these "Scientific Creation" books in their various forms merely put a scientific coat of paint on what is essentially the Book of Genesis' explanation of modern biology and geology. The arguments made in this book will convince you only if you are already leaning towards fundamentalist beliefs. The science advanced in this book could not convince a first-year Geology/earth science undergrad, and I'm sorry to say you have to be willingly ignorant of science to fall for its fallacious arguments. If you believe in the Bible and that it is the unerring word of God, you should say so directly, and not try and fool people with these books that try and make religion into a science.
