Nelson Searcy is the ultimate renegade pastor. That means that he has a great passion to lead at his highest level—to be different when that’s called for, and he never settles for average. He is the perfect person to lead you out of the rut of mediocrity so that you can lead to your highest level. Read this book and abandon average!
- Jimmy Britt, Lead Pastor, Rocky River Church, Concord, North Carolina

Wanting to be more than just average or mediocre? Then embed into your life the Seven Commitments of a Renagade Pastor that Nelson shares in this book. It could change your life.
- Bill Easum, President and Senior Consultant with 21st Century Strategies

Nelson Searcy more than wrote the book on how to do church. He has taken the principles of “how-to-do” from Scripture and made it amazingly doable for the pastor who wants church to be better. Searcy is amazing. He leads. He trains. He equips. He writes. And when he does, some of the most profound principles of leading the greatest enterprise on earth come within reach of you the pastor.
- Dick Hardy, Founder and President, The Hardy Group www.thehardygroup.org, Author of Right Turns and 27 Tough Questions Pastors Ask

Nelson Searcy loves ministers. I can say this because I’ve worked with him now for over two decades. This book is an expression of Nelson’s heart and passion to help every minister experience a spiritually healthy lifestyle. In my work with thousands of ministers in churches large and small, I can say with assurance that each one would benefit from this book.
- Milton A. Hollifield, Jr., Executive Director, Baptist State Convention of North Carolina

The Renegade Pastor shows church leaders how to move their life and ministry from average to awesome! Most of us start out with a dream of doing great things for God. The challenges we face often cause this dream to leak out. In this book Nelson Searcy will inspire church leaders to dream again and to dream bigger than ever. It provides valuable advice and tools for overcoming mediocrity and truly become a renegade pastor.
- Steve Reynolds, Lead pastor, Capital Baptist Church, Annandale, Virginia Author of Bod4God and Get Off the Couch

Seminary is an important part of a pastor’s preparation for ministry, but there are key areas of pastoral life that seminary doesn’t address. The Renegade Pastor picks up the loose ends by delving into critical life management issues that every pastor faces. Over the years, I have come to consider Nelson Searcy a friend. I know the man and his work, and I trust both the heart and foundational principles that anchor everything he writes. This book is no exception. If you want to take a step forward in terms of the excellence you bring to your life and ministry, I encourage you to spend some time learning what it means to become a renegade pastor.
- Dr. Elmer Towns, Co-founder and Vice President, Liberty University Dean, Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary

I always enjoy reading anything Nelson Searcy writes. He inspires growth in the local church and in church leaders as well. The Renegade Pastor, will help you discover ideas that will sharpen you as a leader and help you fulfill the call of God in your life. Nelson defines The Renegade Pastor as one who is “passionately abandoned to the plans of God and experiences fulfillment in life and ministry.” Every pastor needs a deeper, more personal understanding of both of these areas.
- Philip Wagner, Pastor, Oasis Church, Los Angeles, PhilipWagner.com

There is an epidemic of defection and defeat among pastors. The Renegade Pastor is a book that can help turn the tide. This book is chock-full of practical wisdom that will help pastors “live well” and “lead well.” Nelson doesn’t write from theory but from years of experience as a local church pastor. What I love about this book is that Nelson doesn’t just focus on the “what,” he masterfully shows me “how.” This book is a must-read for pastors.
- Lance Witt, Pastor and Founder, Replenish Ministries, replenish.net

If you want to be average don’t read or apply the principles found in this book. On the other hand, if you want to move past "stuck," and experience momentum in your personal life, relationships and ministry, this book is for you! The principles found here have changed my life and the lives of countless others.
- Andy Wood, Lead Pastor, South Bay Church, Silicon Valley, California

If you have read Nelson's stuff before, you know that he is a gifted communicator, has a lot of practical wisdom and is constantly giving you only part of what he knows in an attempt to sell you the next product.

Read this book. Outline it. And take the nuggets. For me, I have to ignore the sales. If I didn't I'd throw up. Often the upsell is his application challenge. Still good practical stuff though.

Nelson Searcy provides a fantastic primer for church leaders who are sick and tired of "ministry as usual." I would recommend this book to everyone entering the pastorate and anyone who needs a Holy Spirit jolt to get back to the calling to lead God's people and to reach the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ!

The Renegade Pastor is a must have for all Pastor’s. This book covers topics that are very important for pastors especially “Establishing Healthy Friendships” and “Developing Strong Church Systems.” The Pastor is the head of the church, the one everyone looks to and he should know how to handle stress and everything else that is on his plate.

Broken down into seven commitments a pastor should make, this book will help you become all you need to be to shepherd your flock. So many decisions are placed on a pastors shoulders and I love what Mr. Searcy said in commitment five: Shepherd Your Flock, “A mediocre decision that’s well implemented is far better than a great decision that’s poorly implemented.” This is so true; the pastor should stay engaged to be sure the decision is implemented properly. I have seen so many times decisions are made and the pastor puts someone else in charge to make sure it is carried out.

This book is a must have for all pastors, I highly recommend picking up a copy today for yourself or your pastor.

Thank you to Regal for providing me with a copy of this book for my honest review.

RENEGADE PASTOR - the title just made me think of William Wallace or Lord of the Rings! The cover art made me think of Super Man! I was so excited when this book came up as "Soon to be released" and I began to hound my friend at Regal for the release date and a copy for review. Yes! This was going to be good - I was sure of it. Then I began to think - "hmmm...maybe building it up based on the title, the cover art and the description might set me up for disappointment as had been the case in the past with other books.

However, this one did not disappoint! It was sound a practical advice that can easily be applied. As a Pastor's wife who is active in the ministry with my husband I have seen first hand Pastors who have gotten stuck in a rut. We have experienced moments when we looked up and found a discontentment with the momentum of ministry. This book empowers pastors to break the averaged and become exceptional! Searcy writes words that spark a renewed excitement for ministry, for reaching the lost and for operating in the greatness God has called them to.

There was not a part in this book where I thought - "man I wish I could just get through this one last chapter". Each one was expertly written and woven throughout with biblical truth.

Thanks to Regal for publishing this wonderful book and for giving me a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
