Editorial Reviews

This is the first studio release from the Austin, Texas supergroup that includes Stephen Bruton (Bonnie Raitt), Jon Dee Graham (True Believers), Jud Newcomb (Ian McLagan), Bruce Hughes (Cracker), and John Chipman (George Devore). The Resentments started 5 years ago as a loose Sunday night residency at Austin's Saxon Pub. Somewhere along the way, what began as an excuse to get together and trade songs became a bonafide band.

5.0 out of 5 stars See these guys play live June 2, 2004
Format:Audio CD
I have seen these guys perform live two times now. In one word: amazing! So natural, so loose, so authentic. I brought a friend who is not into alt-country at all, but he is now hooked on The Resentments. Buy this album, it is a rare collection of fine songs. Stephen Bruton, Jon Dee Graham, Jud Newcomb and Bruce Hughes perform their great songs on a great quality record. Thirteen, Annie, Night of the arrival, Greatest and People ask me are my favourites. But is there a moderate or even bad song on this album? No way Jose. As I said buy this album and your speakers sound alive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jon Dee Graham rocks my world. November 6, 2006
Format:Audio CD
I must admit that I am like missionary for Jon Dee Graham, spreading the good word about what an awesome songwriter he is. If you have not checked out his albums or seen him live, do something about that and your life will be better. The Resentments is a side project band that Jon Dee Graham participates in out of Austin. The album is really good and makes you feel like you are actually in Austin able to listen to amazing music whenever you want to instead of in the middle of nowhere where it is rare that someone interesting comes through to play live.

5.0 out of 5 stars Here's some of the best. August 30, 2011
Format:Audio CD
Saxon Pub in Austin, Texas is a terrific venue. If you're there on a Sunday night, don't miss The Resentments. They're usually playing. We've heard them twice and were knocked out both times. If you can't make it, this CD is a first class substitute. Not a single weak item. Moneyback guarantee.
