From the Back Cover

The worst was supposed to be over. We were reunited after a decade apart. We were discovering the truth about our past. We were training and getting stronger every day. We were even happy. . . .

We never imagined the Mogadorians could turn one of our own against us. We were fools for trusting Five. And now Eight is lost forever. I would do anything to bring him back, but that's impossible. Instead, I will do whatever it takes to destroy every last one of them.

I've spent my entire life hiding from them, and they've stolen everything away from me. But that stops now. We're going to take the battle to them. We have a new ally who knows their weaknesses. And I finally have the power to fight back.

They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
Number Three in Kenya.
And Number Eight in Florida.
They killed them all.

I am Number Seven.

I will make them pay.

First off I absolutely love this series. I won't give any plot spoilers. This book really opens up some more character development especially in characters you've wanted to know about. You get more insight to Setrakus Ra and what his whole deal is. And you get to see a different side to Ella. Definitely pick this up if you are a fan to the series or if you just enjoy an incredible sci fi voyage!

This book is now my favorite of the 5 released! It starts where the Fall of Five left off, Marina, Six and Nine are trekking through the swamp with Marina a mess from Five's betrayal and keeping little control over her new legacy. John is with Sam, Malcolm and Adam on the run after the events in Chicago, joined by the Chimaera Adam rescued. We also get the POV from Ella who was taken in Chicago. If you read The Lost Files: Hidden Enemy, there is a nice surprise (ok we knew this would play in) about where one of those story lines left off.

The action is intense throughout most of the book. There is no where near as much running and hiding as in the previous books. The Garde had united in The Fall of Five, so now it is about taking action instead of sitting around and planning. The pace is really fast, and moves along well. Some of the previous questions you're left wondering are answered. (DO NOT PROCEED IF YOU HAVENT READ FALL OF FIVE). Without giving away any details, but some answers to look forward too, we learn Setrakus Ra's story and how he came to lead the Mogs and why he wants Ella at his side from the coma Ella was stuck in. I love how the book ends. It's the perfect setup to the last book and I cannot wait another year to see how this sends! I guess I'll have to make do with the novellas that will be released.

Enjoy!

If you've read the other 4 books up to this point, this follows the same style. It's a quick read and moves fast with a good story and character development. I enjoyed how new things were revealed about Setrakus Ra's and Five's past, but I do feel like the story is dragging on way too long. I did not like the ending at all. Not only did it stop abruptly (cliffhanger, I get it, but most cliffhangers don't leave you there for a year!) but I am also not a fan of the direction of the next book. I won't give away anything, but it seems like the next book might be very stupid.

I have loved this series since the get go. The whole "Piticus Lore" ghost writer thing, and the "WE ARE NOT ALONE!" secretive undertone, is a really cool twist. The whole book being presented as a "They are among us" underground novel was a brilliant idea. But I ALMOST gave this book only four stars. I was a bit disappointed in the ending and the huge secret of the Loriens was ....well, you decide for yourself...Review time:

Giant Mogadorian ships hover over all major cities. Their fighters flitting about. The Mogs and the mysterious men in black are working together. The people of earth are enthralled! Loriens are scattered again! After just finally finding one another. Everything is falling apart. ..WTH!?

Well, it seems with the gathering of the Loriens in the earlier books is all for naught. Setrakis Ra takes on human form (a beautiful human form at that) and is wooing the Earth's upper government into an alignment. And has been for some time!!

Sam's father was right, but he had no idea the depth of the insidious rot!

Promises of medical miracles, and advanced weaponry are just too persuasive...The reason for his desire to own all of the Lorien's legacy pendants becomes clear. He can assimilate their legacies. But that's not all they can do.

A mysterious place surfaces..."The Sanctuary"..A mysterious pyramid, somewhere in the center of a steamy jungle in southern Mexico protected by Lorien magic, perhaps holds the key to everything....The Mogs have it surrounded, but for a Mog to touch it's Lorien shield is instant ash time for Them.

The children of Loric fight on...(or flee on) after the traitorous number five nearly successfully engineers a trap that would have killed or captured most of the Loriens left,.

Needless to say, the Revenge of Seven did not meet the incredibly high standards that I hold the Lorien Legacies Series to. In the previous four books, Pittacus Lore used mostly descriptions and character interaction, with minimal action scenes to spice up the plot and make it interesting. A solid approach, in my opinion. So I was very dissapointed to find that this was not the case in The Revenge of Seven. Lore had more action scenes in this book than in all four of the previous books combined. He went for an action/thriller approach that rarely existed previously in the series. Let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we? Going back go the first book in the series, I am Number Four. This book (still the best in the series, in my opinion) gave readers an interesting plot that did not call for any action scenes. So when the battle at Paradise High occured, we all reacted in the same way, "duuuuuuuude, that was awesome!" I know I did. This is the main difference between The Revenge of Seven and the rest of the series. Action scenes were never overdone, there was usually one per book, which left us in awe and appreciating them when they occured. They left us saying "yay that was great!" while The Revenge of Seven left us saying "ugh, another one?" Pittacus Lore bombarded us with, fighting, action, and other things that just weren't necessary. What wss described as the "penultimate" book in the series, was nothing but an average read at best. The only thing satisfying about this book, was the ending. Other than that, it dropped the ball. Big time
