4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and Some
This is in the same mold with games like Bejeweled, Kahuna, Jewel Quest, 7 Wonders, and probably there are tons more versions of this game out there. All of the above are fun to play with. Repetitive, yes, but it is engaging and entertaining that is why everybody keeps on doing it again and again.

3.0 out of 5 stars locks up my pc
I do love playing these Atlantis games. This is the second one I bought thru Amazon. For some reason it constantly locks up/freezes up my screen, and I have to reboot. I guess some games are like that. oh well. 6.99 down the drain...

I like the educational part that comes with this game. It teaches a little bit of history about the ancient cities of legendary Atlantis, Babylon and the surrounding areas each time you complete a level. The graphics are exceptional, the sound effects are dramatically exciting. Been playing this game more as opposed to the similar games mentioned above.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best match 3 games, March 2, 2009

This is one of the best match 3 games out there. Graphics are exceptional for a match 3, game play enticing. Call of Atlantis (the sequel) is just as much fun. With try-it-before-you-buy-it, you can't lose.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and interesting, February 20, 2009

I played through all the levels/games once. It then seems to hint on the final screen that there are further adventures as you go through all the levels again. So I played through them 2 more times, practically the same games each time. You accrue more extra time, bombs, lightening bolts and switching icons.

Overall it is fun and interesting. You are matching three or more items on the screen at a time to clear them. Plus moving the four helpers to drop off the screen to gain them. As you go up in levels you run into stone walls, frozen squares, locked squares and other hazards that you have to work around to match pieces.

I made it to the 12th level of Carthage, played that level repeatedly, used up my 10 bonuses and simply could not get through it. I still had 2 lives left but with nothing to use to help myself and the way they were laying....no point in going on. Kind of disappointing to play a game that has a level that, at some point, cannot be conquered (would have been nice to have my bonuses back after failing each attempt so I would have a chance to make it through on the next attempt....should have been able to try again with what I had going into the level). That was about halfway through, and I am fairly good at this sort of thing. It froze once on my computer but I got it back without losing my place. Great game but only good for about 4 days of play here...

2.0 out of 5 stars Window XP Problems, November 18, 2011

Downloaded and installed twice. Just would not work on my old Windows XP. Wish it did, but that's one reason I like the free trials at Amazon, get to see if they work first.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best games my wife and I have ever played!, April 18, 2012
This review is from: The Rise of Atlantis [Download] (Software Download)
Rise Of Atlantis is simply a wonderful game. It is a game in the genre of Bejeweled but I believe it is more fun to play. You have to travel through the lands of Greece, Troy, Phoenicia, Babylon, Egypt,Carthage and Rome and each country has 11 levels in it to play. Needless to say each level and country gets harder to beat. Your get a history lesson on each country as you tour and it is actually very interesting information.

While playing the 77 levels you gather up tools that each have a unique power to help you finish each level. A little clue is not to use them unless you have to as your will need them a lot in the last few levels. The levels really get tougher and tougher to beat!

This game is challenging and entertaining and I believe you will enjoy it. Playrix makes many games and they are all a lot of fun but this is one of the best ones out there. This game is like a good book, you can't put it down till you have finished it.

I recommend it to you and I believe you will enjoy it.

The game is interesting and entertaining, fun to play, colorful and engaging. At completion you were supposed to be able to download a 3d screen saver but that feature does not work. I get a 404 page not found error. Very disappointed!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very easy to let the time slip by when you play., March 4, 2012

This game is your basic 'match three or more' format, but the twist is various items that must be brought down to the bottom in order to complete each level. I'm pretty competitive so after I finished it completely, I've had to start again with another name, (to try and 'best myself' ha!) It's pretty mindless entertainment if you enjoy just piddling on the computer while you watch TV, or to relax before bedtime. For a kid, it would probably be great for directional or problem solving skills, as there are a few twists in the way it lays out. My only complaint is that it indicates you can download this fairly cool windows screensaver when you reach the end of the game. It wouldn't download at all. But I didn't buy it for the screensaver so I didn't feel I'd lost anything.

I became intrigued with this game online and decided to buy it. This is the first time I ever downloaded a video game. I enjoy the game because of its beautiful graphics, the music, the gradual increase in difficulty and, quite honestly, the history lessons. It may sound corny but I really feel like I'm traveling. It's a really nice distraction from the day to day world.
