5.0 out of 5 stars Definitive Indeed!
This new edition of the RTS is worth buying even if you already own an earlier edition. The editor has included important material on how this book was developed and interpreted.

As for the book itself, the Road to Serfdom explains the rise of totalitarianism in twentieth century Europe. Yet it also made a more general argument concerning the incompatibility of...

1.0 out of 5 stars You'll need a microscope
I am not reviewing Hayek's message. I'm reviewing this edition of his book.
The printing is just too small.
In case you're wondering, there's nothing wrong with my eyes. I don't even remember ever noticing the print size in any book before. It was never an issue before this one.
I would recommend buying a different edition. You'll be giving up a 60+ page...

Given the Socialist Surrender of our current crop of politicians, I would highly recommend that everyone revisit this book from the past. Those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it's failures.

A little dry and toasty but the most clear and reasonable defense of free market economics I have come across. Hayek was very helpful on understanding how a country like Germany transformed into a totalitarian state before World War II and what naziism even is.

Hayek's "The Road to Serfdom" is a cornerstone in free market literature. It helps to have read Economics in One Lesson first to get your foot in the door.

One of the most influential books of my lifetime. Anyone who wants to know where government is going and why needs to read this. As it was written pre WW II it is stunning in its prophetic comprehension . A must have for a serious student of history.

Tough Read but a very eye opening book on the politics of money and the difference between Hayek and Keysian economic principles. In shot, tells why the American Economy is doomed.

A must read for understanding how the economy works. We need to oppose Kainesian spending and the made up money printed by the Federal reserve
