This book intrigued me from the time I read the title. I was not disappointed in the least when I started reading.

It amazes me how some people can go through life and not know where they are going and be perfectly content about it. I, on the other hand, need guidance to give me the courage I sometimes need to make the right decisions for me. Leonard talks about his personal life and proves the old addage that there is a silver lining in every cloud -we just have to look for it.

I really love chapter five - it hit home for me (pardon the pun). Just look at this tiny portion from the book:
"Chapter Five, STAYING AWAKE, asks us to leave familiar terrain and enter the tunnel of transformation. This transition stage is often marked by confusion, terror and anxiety as we face the fear of losing our identity and cherished beliefs. Since an awakened state heightens awareness, we may feel worse as painful memories, long suppressed, are brought to light. Once we make the declaration to return Home, there's no turning back. Now we are ready to engage the Guiding Power of Spirit. With our internal gyroscope we distinguish between life choices that create discord and those that resonate with our True Self. We learn to pay attention to each holy instant by using a simple process: Observe, Accept, Forgive, Ask, Listen and Receive. We begin to recognize incredible opportunities in every moment."

What can I say - Roadmap is a must read. If you are at all confused or lost this book will help you find your way back home.

Home.

For many of us, there is a sense of comfort in the word.

The word conjures up feelings of family, a place of safety, a place that contains some items of importance or perhaps it is a place where we can feel like we can really be ourselves.

But home is not just a physical place, a physical structure that contains or enables these things.

Oftentimes it can also be a state of mind, a place within our own sense of spirit where we feel safe, where we can be ourselves and where we feel most comfortable.

For many of us who accept that such a place of spiritual centeredness exists, there have been many times when we felt that we were not "home". Perhaps there were times when we were not only not home, but we had no knowledge of how to get home.

For all of those people who wonder how to find their way home, "The Roadmap Home - Your GPS to Inner Peace" may be just the book that one needs.

I could say that Mr. Szymczak's writing style is engaging for it is indeed that.

I could also suggest that his insights into the challenges of finding our way home are profound for they are incredibly powerful.

I could even suggest that his exercises in self-exploration are powerful and resonate with the reader because they definitely do that also.

However, the thing that I found to be most impactful in Mr. Szymczak's book is his incredible, personal story.

Many authors tell a story of the path to personal growth or freedom but they do it from the standpoint of "I have never had these challenges but since you do, I think this is the best way to solve them". Such books leave many readers disconnected from the author as the reader thinks "what do you know of my journey?".

The Roadmap Home is a delightful guide book to Inner Peace. The author shares himself authentically and practically as he discusses the guiding power of Spirit. He focuses on waking up and remaining conscious and aware of the multi faceted dimensions of life. He uses his own life experiences and the ancient wisdom of the ages to help design a roadmap to HOME....a place of sanctuary, serenity and inner peace. He encourages creative expression, visioning, gratitude and other spiritual practices. Indepth exercises are given and this is a practical manual on aligning with the Power which dwells within.

Leonard's sense of humor lightens the subject matter and his words are well chosen. His writing skills are superb and he presents a treasure chest of sound advice and loving counsel. Spiritual awakening illuminates the path to peace. I found this book to be enlightening, moving, humorous and deeply touching. A must read for any spiritual seeker. I highly recommend this wonderful book. It is a gem and presents GREAT VALUE for the money!

Leonard Szymczak's book has beautifully described the path back home to our inner, spiritual greatness. With the heart of a mystic and the practical words of a therapist, he has clarified the the steps to spiritual alignment and progessive personal growth. Leonard's personal experiences as a child touch the heart and lead to understanding of the importance of finding our way home. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to enhance personal happiness, increase spiritual security, and find success in life.

I found this book by coincidence....if there really is such a thing :-) It marries beautifully psychology and the spiritual. My undergrad was in psychology but my personal predilection is spiritual. Obviously, I had to have the book and it does NOT disappoint. It's rare to find a psychologist that can take "healing" to the highest levels and I feel that's where ultimate healing must go. My only regret is that I did not find this book and Dr. Szymczak sooner as his practice is close by. Unfortunately, I move across country soon. But I still have the book!! Thank you, Dr.
