Book Description

October 26, 2010 3 and up
Richly illustrated, interactive book answers the question: “What makes a robot tick?â€

This robot has two eyes, two arms, and two legs, but what really makes him tick? Inside The Robot Book, Heather Brown answers that question within an interactive story that features actual working--and moving--parts. Gears and cogs are mounted on each illustration to keep little fingers and imaginations engaged.

While the junior engineer is tinkering away, parents will also be charmed by the story's warm text, which reveals the true secret behind what makes our robot tick. Here's a little hint: It isn't a gear, or bolt, or some other mechanical part, it's what's in his heart that counts the most. Perfect for year-round gift-giving, the book will be packaged inside a protective poly-bag.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is awesome! December 29, 2010
Format:Hardcover
My son is really crazy for tactile, interactive books. The pictures for this one don't do it justice - there are spinning and sliding gears throughout, making it a really fun experience for little hands to explore. If you are looking for a physically engaging book for a little one, this one is a great bet. My son is 14 months old, and I'm sure he'll enjoy it for years to come (it is extremely well made).

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for a gift but cogs get stuck December 31, 2010

This is a beautiful, tactile book with a lovely, simple message. It's great as a present for the very young reader because it looks so good. (I bought it for a few two year olds.) The cover is gorgeous and the first spread is just how I imagined it would be after seeing the promotional video. The trouble is that once you start playing with it, some of the cardboard cogs don't spin all the way around. Still a great gift, but not as great as it could have been.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! December 31, 2010
By SA
Format:Hardcover
My 16-month old son is rough on books, and we both love this one - he is fascinated by the pictures and moving parts, and I am pleased by how sturdy the book itself is - the moving parts are thick and sturdy, not thin and papery like pop-ups. Fun to interact with and read!
