It is truly a shame he couldn't have done more translation before he died. This writing should be on all bookshelves
where there is an interest in moving into the world of Sufi poets. If you liked this work may I suggest you also get
Omar Ali Shah and Robert Graves rendering of the Rubaiyyat. Like the Gulistan, it will touch you deeply if you'll take
te time to assimilate it.

The sayings of Shaikh Saadi can be related to all times. A good reading to have sound advice on wordly matters.

Simple but yet grounded in substance and wisdom. Saadi breathes the jist of his life and the truth he has experienced into short stories that take much longer "to get" (interpet/understand) then to finish.
