The Rower's Code by Marilyn Krichko with Jane Rollinson is a must read for anyone who works with others in any situation. Think of your Sunday School leadership team, your co-workers, the non-profit organization you donate time to, all of these organizations can benefit from the lessons taught in this fun, easy to read book.

Marilyn has tapped a very useful analogy to present the real core of any team -- RELATIONSHIP.

I can't wait to get my team off the bus and into the boat!

4 of 5 people found the following review helpful By Wes Van Voorhis on April 12, 2011
Format: Hardcover
Marilyn Krichko has written an accessible story of team building in "The Rowers' Code". The book can be easily read in a trans-continental flight and yet the message will stay with the reader for a long time. Team building is about relationships and this small book gives enough different types of relationships and personality types for any person you might have on your team. The story format makes the book much easier to read than the usual "preachy" management how-to book. The summary and key concepts at the end of each chapter make the points of the chapters easy to digest and retain. And the appendices make the book much more valuable for putting into practice. I know I will use the team building lessons for my individual management team and I trust it will benefit you, too!

I used the concepts from this book in a Home Owners Association meeting the other night and it was easily grasped by people who had no preivous exposure to the book. The metaphor of the rowing boat and how everyone must be in sync to move it forward was right on the money. Fast read with effective and easily applicable concepts.
