This is a tremendous album. B.B. surprised me very much with this release. Every song is good, some are incredible. Production quality is professional and B.B. has a very unique approach to emotional songwriting. The vocals are diverse and harmonic and the musical atmosphere swiftly changes from powerful punk rifts to elaborate indie ballads or vice versa. They are playing a free live show on their own turf tomorrow at ASU's campus and I plan to go and support their impressive indie debut and I wish them the best of luck, I see big things.

This is one of the best albums out of Arizona...ever. I can't sing enough praises. I think it has a nice balance between raw edginess and catchy melodies. The lyrics are unbelievable at times and the energy on the recording will floor you. Spanish Dagger and Good Night Quiet Noise are absolutely incredible.
I read a review from some one here that said some negative things about the recording... I absolutely disagree with everything he said. My only conclusion is that Dave Jensen or some other BB member kicked his A** a while ago, and he's still upset and jealous of their impending success...

I first heard cinema spine on a radio station and after that immedieatly went out and purchased the album. I was lucky enough to actually see them here locally for a radio promational concert. The thing that I liked most about this cd was the catchy melodies, Dave's voice is amazing. I am unable to compare BB to anyone else, because they seriously sound like no one else! My fav songs off of the rumor include: cinema spine, unfit, split lip envy, good night quiet noise, seceret number 7, 24-18, jaws of life. But honestly there is not a bad song on the cd/

Before Braille
"The Rumor"
Liquid 8/Aezra
There's something mystical about Mesa, Arizona. Outsiders don't understand. Even residents of the Salt River Valley's other cities occasionally shake their heads and puzzle over how a town that seemed to be little more than an aging Mormon-dominated suburb can suddenly seem so huge, even urban. Stranger yet is how it still retains a singular sense of community and a small-town aura. With more than 400,000 residents, Mesa is Arizona's third-largest city; now larger than Miami, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, or St. Louis, it seems right that there has been an equivalent explosion of musical talent. Where one could sensibly expect to hear Lawrence Welk and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (or Motab, as they are affectionately known in LDS communities), strains of Before Braille, Jimmy Eat World, Authority Zero, Fivespeed, and Reuben's Accomplice are rising in answer to the roar of Sky Harbor Airport's incoming aircraft. Where did it all come from? Like any fertile modern rock scene, Mesa's is the result of punk rock's gradual percolation. The very insularity that marks the city as "a little bit square" is proving to be an advantage; because of a slight delay in getting with the times, Mesa is sharing its edgy music with the world at a time when edgy music is passé and super-commercial alternative rock and snot-slick pop are all the rage among record company executives. It's just a matter of time before Mesa's answer to the Replacements breaks out of Arizona's notoriously obscure market.
Before Braille has recently been learning that part of being a professional recording artist is dealing with record companies.

I have listened to Before Braille for a long time now. They are a great live band and it transfer realy well to this CD. I would highly recomend buying this album and try to catch them in concert if they are in your area.

OK first off. I like this band. I was very happy to see this cd on amazon. I lived in arizona for the first 14 years of my life. i grew up on this local music. fivespeed and andherson where my top picks. so to see this rocked my socks. but back to the review. i liked this band from the start. i got their compalation cd with fivespeed and andherson back when i was 12 or 13.my sister and brother in law got me started on them. but now im sad to hear this cd. the demo had so much raw power and energy to it. i just couldnt take the cd out on my cd player. then when i got this i was fully stoked to hear it. when i poped it in and it started my smile faded. yes they are good. but this cd has shot down all my fond memories of them. now they sound like every other emo band that i hate with a pasion. but still, and no matter what, there will always be room in my cd case for before braile

Great CD! Well worth the money and then some. By far the best band to come out of AZ. "The Rumor" by far over shadows " Bleed American" ( Jimmy Eat World ) You'll never forgive your self if you don't grab this one!
