Most Helpful Customer Reviews

7 of 11 people found the following review helpful By G. Walker on July 5, 2006
Format: Paperback
My sainted mother owned a copy of this book, which she purchased in Old Sacramento, a touristy shopping area in Sacramento. She bought it mainly for the fascinating chestnuts of Sacramento area history, of which the book is chocked full. As the years wandered on, however, I discovered that it was a treasure trove of marvelous recipes from old and prominent Sacramento households, as well as from some of the local restaurateurs of the era. I was sad when the old copy finally fell to pieces, and was thrilled to find a perfect copy to replace it with!

All of that said, the Editorial Reviews for this book, relate to an entirely different publication. This book makes no reference to the historical significance of honey. It does, however, sate your appetite for Sacramento anecdotes!
