Editorial Reviews

How did the Imagineers create a realistic looking snow-capped mountain in Florida for Animal Kingdom's Expedition Everest? They started with a design process and models. Using real theme park rides and attractions, like Radiator Springs Racers and Toy Story Midway Mania, students will see how design and models are used to put things together and make them function. They will learn the steps of the engineering design process as well as how both physical and computer aided design models are useful. Each Imagineering DVD includes a bonus try- it-yourself experiment, an interactive activity to reinforce key learnings, Public Performance Rights for classroom/educational use only, and a printable educator's guide.

Walt Disney believed, "if you can dream it, you can do it," and that belief is at the core of Disney Imagineering; the place where imagination meets engineering. Imagineers use science to create and build unique attractions that delight Disney guests around the globe. This award-winning series uses roller coasters, stunt shows, animatronics, and other irresistible examples to break down scientific principles in a way that is accessible for all learners. Just imagine what you could do if the whole world was your toolbox!

5.0 out of 5 stars PERFECT! January 7, 2013

I have a budding Imagineer in my house. My 9 year old has only had one career goal since he was 3, to be an Imagineer at Disney. This DVD, along with the rest of the series, have been great! He gets a glimpse into how the rides he loves were made, while learning about the science that makes them. He watches one every night before bed. I hope Disney makes more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for our FIRST LEGO League engineering project April 11, 2014
By Shopper
This is a perfect supplement for the F.I.R.S.T. Lego League project part of the robotics league. Fits the kids age level and is extremely informative! Ask your local library to get a copy if you are homeschooling or your kids are in an engineering type of program. This video has great examples of physical modeling, computer modeling, and play-testing models shown right from theme park attractions, and the host is goofy enough to hold students' attention. Great for middle school level engineering.

As a prelude to a paper engineering activity, I showed this to 8th graders. It was well received. I thought it was very interesting!

I can't say enough good things about this DVD series. Each title is engaging and downright fun. The clever, black and white animation sequences help reinforce the key lessons being taught, and the Imagineers featured present information in a straight-forward, easy to understand way.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Kids Love This Series! August 28, 2009
WOW...my kids really enjoy these exciting new DVDs from Disney Educational Productions. They show how the Disney attractions are created, and you'll be engaged by the relevant scientific explanations that are featured in the programs. I encourage teachers and parents to take a closer look at the entire series for their classroom or at home!
