Review

Jerome Feldman and Doug McPhee have written the definitive book on teaching. This gem is a must-read for all those who aspire to educational excellence. -- Mike Song CEO & Author Cohesive Knowledge Solutions, Inc We've all experienced the excitement of learning at the hands of a truly gifted teacher. And most of us have experienced the bland, joyless drone of a poor one. Jerome Feldman and Doug McPhee have collaborated to create the definitive book on how to become that truly treasured, teacher….an excellent educator. Thoroughly researched and filled with inspirational quotes and stories, The Science of Learning and The Art of Teaching is written for our rapidly-changing world. The authors, both talented educators in their own right, have woven together time-tested philosophy, cutting-edge research, and their own broad experience to form a useful guide for both young and seasoned teachers. They cover essentials for creating a solid learning environment, the impact of technology on education, inclusion strategies, and a vision of how the classroom is and will evolve in coming years. This gem is a must-read for all those who aspire to educational excellence. -- Mike Song CEO & Author Cohesive Knowledge Solutions, Inc.

The Science of Learning and the Art of Teaching is a commendable work that gets right to the heart of education. With its informative descriptions of best educational practices, including terms, methods and explanations, it will benefit all educators. It provides powerful insights and enables teachers to effectively match their delivery with their students, content and situations. Reading this book I could hear the authors' voices speaking just to me - giving me rich data for reflection. --Bobbi DePorter President, Quantum Learning Network; Cofounder, SuperCamp Author Quantum Success, Co-author Quantum Teaching

In today's sprint paced world it is vital that nations, organisations, teams and individuals learn better, think better and teach better. 'Better' does not only mean quicker - it means richer, deeper, broader and with mind, heart, body and spirit engaged and growing. Jerome Feldman and Doug McPhee's The Science of Learning and the Art of Teaching helps everyone become such a learner, thinker, and teacher. It is a vital resource to all. --Glenn Capelli BA Dip Ed MACE CSP MENSA Sir Winston Churchill Fellowship Awardee Director True Learning Center

This is an excellent text to understand the learning process, which leads to better teaching. It will be especially important for beginning university professors as they usually enter the classroom without any formal teaching experience other than observing professors who taught them. Teaching is serious business that needs to be accomplished in an exceptional manner. The Science of Learning and The Art of Teaching by Jerome Feldman and Doug McPhee provides a detailed guideline to understand and become a better instructor. It will be required reading for all of my Ph.D. students and new faculty that I mentor. -- Dr. Paul R. Krausman Professor, Wildlife Conservation and Management School of Natural Resources University of Arizona

The Science of Learning and the Art of Teaching is a valuable addition to both an academic as well as a practical guide to teaching. I wish this text had been available when I started teaching. I really appreciated the way the authors approach the aspect of a personal teaching philosophy. The manner in which the authors approach the preparation of lesson plans is a valuable insight into how one must approach the process of teaching. I really liked the way the authors cover not only learning styles but manage to blend the scientific theory of teaching into an artful roadmap to success in the classroom. This text is a wonderful resource for new as well as experienced teachers. -- John Poore EDD Professor Keller Graduate School, DeVry University

I had breakfast with the author Jerome (and i look forward to meeting Doug McPhee some day). Worth the time to spend with this book that Dennis Yuzenas, a master teacher in Florida, has called "essential" for referring to the tools available to teachers... I'm looking forward to seeing this document being translated into Spanish eventually. I plan to use the translations in workshops in other countries.
