Durgin has an amazing ability to sink the reader into the mind of someone not quite human. Her quick moving prose transports the reader into a telepathic community, and Galetia's mind. Galetia's duty is to protect a teenager coming of age, and as any parent knows, it's impossible to keep their teen safe.
