This kindle book is beautifully illustrated. Who can fail to love the sea otter with its adorable face and clever adaptations? Chan has laid out a tale of mother and child love with a decent amount of information on the life of the sea otter. He provides a short glossary to help children understand the more technical terms. There are a few spelling and editing errors, but most of the text is readable for elementary age children. This naughty little sea otter gets into some trouble and some unsettling events near the end of the story might upset a younger child hearing the story. At its conclusion, the cycle of nature is played out and the sea pup will need to learn how to assume her role as mother as the chain of life continues.

A precious story of a mother sea otter doing what mothers do best showing their babies how much they are loved and cared for by feeding them and taking care of them. The author has done a good job of showing that love through his words and plot line. With vivid characters you feel the baby's love and the mother's warmth to her child.

I warmly recommend this book to children of all ages. Inside, together with pastel hues and endearing illustration,
you will find a story of sea life, family love and learn about life responsibilities. This book also has a useful glossary of terms.
Furthermore, you will stumble upon an important message about experience which one can gain practically overnight.
Learning about nature and life cycles is extremely useful, and something that children can comprehend fairly easily.
