Book Description

The Kailmeyra Chronicles: Book Two--

Life for Nora couldn't be better; she has married the man of her dreams and loves living in the pristine land of Kailmeyra.

That is, until the darkness threatens her perfect world.

Now war is upon the land. She and Gavin must strengthen their clan and prepare to fight. But the enemy has an ally—one that not only wields power, but holds knowledge of the ancients' secrets. Secrets that could destroy creation itself.

As the darkness grows, doubt seeps in ... protectiveness hinders progress ... and the unthinkable comes to pass.

Bewildered and alone, Nora shoulders the responsibility of leading an entire race to war. As she struggles with decisions that seem impossible to make, she is haunted by one choice.

"No one has ever doubted that you would die for those you love. The question then becomes ... would you live?"

"Isaacs best work to date, "Keepers" will bring you to your knees, leaving you breathless and weeping over the fate of Nora and the people of Kailmeyra." --Tracy Riva, Midwest Book Review

Editorial Reviews

"Isaacs' ability to create such an amazing world full of vibrant characters that feel as real as in any in our own is enviable! Her fluid style and sensory writing leaves you satisfied yet wanting more! Don't miss the opportunity to read this story!" --Hope Collier, author of The Willows: Haven

"Elizabeth Isaacs, has done it again! She has pulled me into the world of Kailmeyra, and left me stunned at the beauty of her work."--Amber, WinterHaven Books

"The Secret of the Keepers is even better than The Light of Asteria. Not only is her writing honest and true, she herself is an amazing being. Your life is not as full without reading about the Alfar people of Kailmeyra and Nora's journey. I cannot thank Elizabeth Isaacs for making my world brighter with her amazing craft!" --Patricia, from Patricia's Particularity

"The Secret of the Keepers was AMAZING! After reading two of Elizabeth's novels I can now easily say I will be a forever fan and read ANYTHING she writes in the future. Her knack of writing so beautifully and writing such amazing adventures is purely astonishing." Haley, Ya_Aholic reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing book! November 6, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
The Secret of the Keepers starts right where LoA left off, and man, have I been waiting for this!!! We jump right back into their ride to their honeymoon, and Elizabeth gratefully does not make us wait long. She manages to beautifully balance the need for steam and a bit of detail with modesty and everything is appropriate.
The lyrical flow of Nora's voice is still present, and reading her thoughts and following her journey is such a joy. Emotions are a big part of SotK too, and Elizabeth has such a gift, I feel lucky to get to share in this story. Everything seems so real, if the characters are joyous, so am I, and if they are worried or grieving, she manages to show their feelings and explain it so that it makes me think of a similar situation I was in and I'm able to experience things right along with them.
So many things I was looking forward to was in SotK along with lots of unexpected. I was glued to my kindle and was a sad puppy when I had to put it down to do something else. Elizabeth beautifully continued her story, adding depth to the plot and opening up a whole new set of questions and issues for the next book.
SotK left me bawling at times, laughing and snickering at others, and fanning myself a bit at others. I can feel the love and devotion between Nora and Gavin, and then towards their clan and friends, and for the land and people of Kailmeyra. Nora has so much to deal with, and has to make such hard choices, I really empathize with her, and admire her for the strength she finds and everything that she discovers.
Of course, my favorites from LoA are present and there are some new characters to fall in love with, be suspicious of, and marvel at, from marvelous creatures to old ladies who I can never quite decide what to think about, and delightful children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kailmeyra series Book Two November 1, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
What everyone should know about Beth is she has a enchanting way of making the story come to life. The Secret of The Keepers if just as good if not better than The Light of Asteria. The Light of Ateria and The Secret of The Keepers flowed well together. I wasn't left with a story line that didn't make sense. Although you will need a box of tissue next to you as you head into the journey that Beth has laid out for our wonderful characters. You get introduced to new characters. Rune made me a little skeptical at first. I loved his character. I would say more but some characters are intertwined from The light of Asteria to his character. I feel that I might have told to much. Also you get glimpses of Mia and tad bits of her story too. Although it's not very pleasant from Nora's perspective(Gavin is her mate) but from ours we see why Mia was the way Mia was.

This book was a book of telling how Gavin and Nora grow as one. I don't want to give to much about the story because if you loved the first book then you will love this one. Secrets come out, everything just comes together in this book. In Nora's dark hour even I wanted to give up because of the heart ache. Nora has grown so much since the last book. Her and Gavin's bonding together, what she has to go through when her journey starts. This book was mind blowing and Yes, I want more but I was left with just enough to make me satisfied to not want to pull my hair out for the next one.

This series is wonderful and you will be as enchanted with the story as I am once you kick up your copy.

5.0 out of 5 stars MUST READ! Review by Patricia's Particularity October 31, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Authors such as Elizabeth Isaacs make you take step back in awe, amazed at the capabilities that a single writer has, affecting you on a new and exciting level. Secrets of the Keepers, the 2nd installment continues to show the amazing talents of Elizabeth Isaacs in creating a gorgeous new world full of wonder, amazement, and unspeakable beauty.

Nora's journey in Kailmeyra continues, this time as the wife of Gavin, the love of her life. That is not all that is new with Nora - as Nora and Gavin grow closer and closer together, the possibilities of their future, their friends, and Kailmeyra's future are endless... anything is possible. But when an enemy returns everything that makes up Kailmeyra and its' people, including Nora, are at deadly risks. Nora is tested in her abilities to not only fight but in the belief that she has within herself.

I cannot tell you how amazing this book was. I literally cannot put the emotions and feelings I experienced (and still do) into words. Elizabeth Isaacs has such a way with words, that while in complete awe and jealousy of such a gift (I will boldly admit!), I am blown away with the ease that she has in creating a story that touches you deep down while opening your eyes to things you never thought possible. I know I know, I am probably not making a lot of sense - told you it was IMPOSSIBLE to put into words my reaction to this book. If I had to choose one word for this book it would be PERFECT, in every sense of the word. And once again I am already on the edge of my seat desperate to know what happens next.

While Nora has found her place in a 'paranormal' world, she is anything but. Her character is one of the strongest I have ever read, while remaining to true human qualities.

More About the Author

Elizabeth has her masters in music performance and at one time considered a career in opera. Her teacher's heart wouldn't stand for it though, and so she moved back to Kentucky and found a wonderful elementary school that needed her; she's been there for thirteen years.

Elizabeth has always been a writer, but it wasn't until she started working with at-risk children that she found the courage to share her work with the world. The Light of Asteria won honorable mention in the 2010 New York Book Festival, and the Kailmeyra series will be complete in the spring of 2013 with the release of the final book, The Heart of the Ancients.

Elizabeth is currently the acquisitions editor for Raven Key Press where she encourages new authors to grow. She lives in Lexington and continues to write and teach.
